ok, i love doing this!!!! my favorite movies are:

1. The Big Lebowski - Absolutely the smartest most hilarious movie ever. FANTASTIC. Highly recommended.

2. Dazed and Confused - An essential and accurate depiction of life in the 70s. And a damn fun movie to watch too.

3. 2001: A Space Odyssey - More than a sci fi pic. The most thought provoking film I've ever seen. Unbelievably far ahead of its time. Most people even today don't understand it.

4. The Shawshank Redemption - Excellent script, great acting, great direction, great story. Very powerful movie.

5. The Breakfast Club - What Dazed and Confused was for the 70s this is for the 80s. Funny and even insightful at times. Excellent.

6. Schindler's List - Spielberg at his very best. Powerful, tragic, and inspiring. Every person should see this movie.

7. Star Wars - One of the most influential films of all time. Completely revolutionized the movie industry forever. And at the same time it is a hella fun movie to watch, with cool special effects even today. I honestly whole heartedly prefer the special effects of this movie then the computerized effects of today.

8. Crash - I am reluctant to put a new movie on here because I havn't had much time to let it sink in and it hasn't really been measured by the test of time, but this movie was fantastic. I've only cried once in my life in a movie theater, and it was during this movie. Outstanding film and very deserving of the Oscar it won.

9. The Lord of the Rings trilogy - Landmarks in the history of cinema. Great entertainment and fantastic visual achievements.

10. Blade Runner - What an extremely haunting view of the future!! I really love this movie. Gets my vote for best sci fi pic ever, even though 2001 is higher here. So haunting! Great villain too.

11. Raiders of the Lost Ark - An absolutely essential part of American culture and cinema. Very fun movie with a cool plot and Harrison Ford at his most bad ass.

12. Jurassic Park - I never ever get tired of this movie. It is just so much god damn fun!! An awesome plot with awesome ass special effects and amazing music with good acting combines to make one hell of a good movie.
