This can be an uncomfortable condition which doesnt lend itself to sporting or physical activity. High ambient temperature seems to play a large factor as the problem is less prevalent in colder climates presumably because of the "shrinkage factor".

However dont fret! all is not lost.

I have discovered that the discarding of boxers in favour of comfortable form fitting briefs can provide welcome relief.

I'll keep you posted on further developments.

It may tell you something about my upbringing that I learned this good ol' campfire song as "Do your ears hang low?"

I was well into my 20s before I ever heard the bawdier version. I assume that's probably the original, and the bowdlerized version came later.
