*dashes out into the main corridor where Needy is approaching the infirmary*

Ahhh... bollocks. Okay, take Needy inside, I have another emergency to attend to.

*rushes round to LMD's quarters*

Whoa. *administers a sedative* Easy there. Now then what caused... *notices the CD player* CDs? How quaint. Now then what... *notices the currently playing CD* Good grief. Why would you want to know that? Very bad idea.

Now let's get you back to the infirmary, I can monitor you better there. *hoists LMD over his shoulder and starts back to the medical bay*

*wheezes* Remind me also to go over healthy eating habits with the crew. *wheeze*

Bride7 comes off of Safe's stolen dropship, walks up to TheRealMe, and gives him an odd look.

He seems uncomfortable. "Welcome back, Bride7."

She snorts and pushes past Washie, without a word.

Next, TheRealMe welcomes Safe aboard the Sereni-Tree, and shakes his hand. "Glad to have you back, Safe. I see that you brought us a few new people." His eyes search the line of people coming aboard. He is suddenly concerned. "I don't see your friend, Jack. I hope that nothing terrible happened to him!"

"Oh, Jack's fine!" Bride6 says, sleepily, as Sparky carries her past. "He went off with a bunch of women..."

"Bride6, I'm so happy you are safe! Uh, relatively, I mean. Sparky, get her to the Infirmary! And Needy!" TheRealMe says in surprise, "it has been a while since you have traveled with us!" Next, TheRealMe shakes Citizen's hand. Then, "Oh, and children. Hello young ones!" Through the side of his mouth TheRealMe asks, "Safe, where did you get these kids? Where are their parents?"

TheRealMe's com-link beeps.

"Well, I am sorry, everyone, but I must attend to other matters."

Then, TheRealMe talks with Jet concerning her progress with the stardrive, and heads off to the morgue.

Meanwhile, Sparky carries Bride6 into the Infirmary. She has a mangled hand and leg and is still bleeding from several gunshot wounds. Sparky carefully removes the many pistols she has on her person. "You might hurt someone with these, Miss Roberta." He says.

Soul nods thoughtfully.

"I know TRM was setting up a few hyperspace jumps earlier, so I guess if we can get these bodies jettisoned, we should be able to leave them behind rather rapidly."

Soul looks around the room, forgetting if there is an airlock in cargo bay A5, or even if they can just dump the entire contents of the room into space. Of course, the latter plan depends on the room being empty of anything woth keeping.

Soul sighs and depresses the button on his comlink.

"TRM, I've got a quick question for you..."

On the Sereni-Tree’s Bridge, Quincy stirs from her deep sleep. Her com-link is beeping. She slowly opens her eyes and answers it. “Mmmmm?”

“Bride5, this is Me. Are you still on the Bridge?”

Quincey recognizes TheRealMe’s voice and is suddenly awake. “Yes, I’m here!”

“Good! Get whatever sensors we still have online. Do a full spherical sweep of our position, and let me know if trouble is heading our way. I doubt that the Alliance has three cruisers in this sector, but the Killgore might be repaired and return. As soon as Bride4 down in Engineering signals you that the stardrive is working, I want you ready to perform a hyperspace jump. I have already plotted six courses in the nav computer, each of about a week’s duration. Let me know when we are ready to go. If, for whatever reason, you cannot contact myself or ThatWeirdGirl, throw a six-sided die and pick a destination that way. I don’t want anybody else to know where we are going. If we are about to be attacked before the stardrive is ready, signal a ship-wide alarm and perform evasive maneuvers to give Bride4 more time to work. Is that all clear?”

“Yes, I understand!” Quincey says. Quincey smiles and rubs her hands in glee. A hyperspace jump! She’d always wanted to try one of those!

Soul explains the situation to the First Officer.

"Basically, we need to get these bodies out of here as quickly as we can, especially before we get attacked again. God only knows how many booby traps are hidden on them. I need to know if there is an airlock on this level we can use, or if we can just jettison the entire contents of the bay. If we have to do this one body at a time out an airlock, it's gonna take a while unless we can get some help."

TheRealMe considers this news gravely, chin in hand. "Yes, there is a cargo airlock on this level. But, Soul, Warren, I have to say that unless this situation poses a clear and present danger to the ship, I am reluctant to vent human bodies into space like so much garbage. That's the way reavers would operate... or the Alliance. The families of these soldiers deserve to be able to bury and mourn their dead."

He activates his com-link. "Sparky, when Bride6 is safely in the Infirmary, report to the morgue." He touches another control. "Bride4? Can you spare some DRDs? Oh, perhaps ten or a dozen? Six? That will be fine. Send them to cargo bay A5."

"Okay, here is my plan: the three of us will collect the penal soldiers and toss them out of the cargolock immediately. They pose the greatest risk. Then Sparky and six Diangostic Repair Drones will load the rest in a cargo container that we can leave in orbit with a beacon. Do the two of you think that is a reasonable way to proceed, or do you think that the danger is really so great that we must vent them all now?"
