I saw some commercial recently for one of those fishy fast food places. What's it called?
Anyway, they had "lobster bites" in a buttered breaded coating.
Bet they taste terrible.

Heya Back!
so how are things you ask?
Okay the family is dealing with my dad's death about as well as can be expected. Now it turns out my mom is starting to fail - she having constant "mini strokes" and for some reason the doctors won't hospitalize her. All this is occuring in FL and I'm in NC and rest of family is in NY or AZ. No one seems sure were the best place to put her would be.
In between the drama attached to mom, my Tim is getting ready to do another tour under Operation Iraqi Freedom - kicker is he's getting called in 2 months early to help get the unit ready for deployment. Now he (tim) is acting kinda weird - like he doesn't expect to make it back. We're taking 5 vacations in a 3 month period, everything in the house is undergoing an inspection by him, and he won't make any plans or talk about any dreams beyond leaving. He did NOT act like this last time - so I'm kinda wondering exactly what's going on. I did point out to him what I felt were changes from his last tour and Tim just said we'll talk later 
no point in forcing the issue till he's ready to talk.
My workplace turned into Internet Nazis right after the New Year and just recently revoked those standards so I can surf during my breaks again - but TPTB also doubled my work load so I don't get to take said breaks very often-- and of course overtime isn't permitted despite the work increase 
Soooo when all is said and done I haven't had too much spare time lately 
Once Tim starts up with Guard (April 1) I expect I'll have a little more free time to catch up here. 
I've definitly missed hangin / the crew!
We were just in Ft Lauderdale this past weekend, and Tim wanted to hit the FL Ren Faire, so we did. He was wearing a Serenity t-shirt, and I was using a bandana to hold my hair back-- wow did we meet a LOT of Browncoats! That was one of the best parts of the trip!

Soul walks past Safe, a perfectly cooked lobster in his hands. He is too busy enjoying the melted garlic butter and succulent meat to notice Safe at first. Finally seeing the handyman staring at the lobster with his jaw dropped, Soul tosses up a grin.
"Being Captain doesn't come without its privileges."
Soul goes back to eating and continues down the hall.
Safe stares after him for a moment, and then storms back to the kitchen, taking a bottle off the counter and swallowing half of it in one gulp. He makes a rather interesting face, probably one of disgust, and quickly proceeds to spray the drink across the kitchen as he spits it out.
“Cranberry juice? Is everyone trying to kill me?”

Safe turns around and meets Flechette gimly glare rather sheepishly.
Silently Flechette holds out towels and cleaning supplies and crosses her arms and leans against the doorframe.
Safe mentally tries to figure just what area his juice spray filled up.
"By the way" Flechette said neutrally "Cranberry juice makes great mixers - properly done. Course that bottle was being saved for a special dessert"
Safe says nothing buts scrubs faster!

Ok firstly, Serenity those lobster bites sound horrible... I could probably only eat a dozen of those terrible things. Butter battered you say? Ok then only two dozen. I have to draw the line somewhere
Secondly, Soul and Flechette... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Damn that was funny!
And thirdly, Flechette, I'm at a loss for words. You and your Tim have to be the most courageous people I know. Faced with what you're going through and you still have a sense of humour. I am humbled.

After reprogramming the trio of beautiful lovebots with the Three Laws of Robotics, Doctor Me goes to the infirmary to check how his many experiments are going.
"Curses! It seems that one of my experimental subjects has escaped! Has anyone seen a giant mutant lobster man wandering about? I was doing some research with recombinant DNA to see if I could improve on Needy's situation.
"Oh, Kimmel, while we are here, I suppose that I could fix that stab wound."

Flechette: wow, I wish I was there to help. The stress from each area of your life is really too much! I think Safe expressed it very well--you're amazing for being so strong and keeping a sense of humor through it all. I'm very sorry to hear about Tim--with everything else you don't need him leaving now or being freaked about another tour... I'm praying for the two of you and keeping my fingers very tightly crossed for some good luck for you soon! If we can help with advice or just listening, please know we're here for you.

Safe--I am SO excited to read the Boros stories, and I haven't gotten to start yet! I'm hoping to this weekend. Please, it has nothing to do with how interested I am, it's just I haven't had time this week (still working 6 days a week until April 1 when I cut back to full-time...SO looking forward to that). I'm very excited to read!
Lastly, I wanted to gush: my birthday (23) is tomorrow and my boyfriend bought me... FIREFLY! Yippee! Some of the episodes I'd only seen once more than a year ago when I first was hooked. And he gave me Serenity for Channukkah. So now I'm all set! I'm so excited to hear the commentaries at last. And I notice different details now since I know what's going to happen. Anyway, just had to share :)
