Take it as a dark comic book, and it's really okay.
Examine ANYTHING too closely, and it falls apart (Except FF/S, and Dark Angel...

Period.
Calm the frack down. As I said, it was my opinion. That last paragraph of mine was just to bug anyone who didn't like the show. To poke fun. To have a light hearted laugh.
Soooo...like..ummm...
ya, calm down

Take a chill-pill TMurrie:
The "you clowns" didn't necessarily include you. But it prolly will soon enough.
**hands you a cup of kool-aid and a jelly-bean**
"Eat, drink, and be merry."
BSG, after all, is just too damned uber in your mind. And anyhow... it doesn't much matter what is said here. People pick and choose what they want to read, and they find a polar opposite of their point of view when they don't like what they are reading. They do everything they can to discredit and annihilate the person dissenting from them rather than have an open debate.. why bother when your opinion is a "majority" opinion?
The MO: Attack, rejoice that you are a majority opion with superior forces, then retire. You won before you ever started.
I think "Britian" lost the colonies by thinking like that, but I might be mistaken. Who knows?
Of course, "majority opinion" is a relative term. Whole large masses of people think one way, but are told everyday the mass opinion is just the opposite. I guess "majority opinion" is a matter of opinion in that respect. But respect doesn't figure into it anymore (not where truth is concerned), or what a majority thinks for that matter. It's about who controls the "free press". Or the "media" as those of us who free-think like to free-think of it.
Although I call these people "clowns", that is very tame compared to what I think of them as a whole. I'm about to watch all the BSG ep's I missed since I lost interest in the show. What good am I in this debate if I'm ill-informed. I don't particularly care to watch any more of it but I'm not prepared to offer up a decent argument against the fanatical regime of fanboiz-N-galz. I'll come back and shred these whores to pieces when I do. I'm just not gonna be ignorant of the lame plotline. Nor do I imagine there is any point to the debate. They drank the kool-aid before it was ever mixed. Can't poison the willing. When it's voluntary, it's suicide.
We're in the middle of a seasonal break for the show anyhow.
All the actors live in "studio-funded" paradiso palaces, get daily massages, hookers-galore, best food money can buy, waxxing, facials, the world's best gay hair-stylists, ~ the latter 3 = men and women alike...
..an army of lawyers to steal their souls, agents to serve their lawyers, and studio execs to pay their lawyers and then bitch at them about what an ass their lawyer is for being so independant and over-protective of a studio property.
Ah the misery of such a life. Of course... they'll be well suited to play the role of tormented people suffering at the hands of their persecutors given such a hiatus.
House slaves. Every last one of them. This show is nothing but whores and bad actors.
BUT... "Rolling Stone" magazine loves this show. It could be the biggest nuclear-powered pile of shit ever put on the screen come "next" season. But it will live.
Why?
"Rolling Stone" magazine loves it.

Ummm...yeah. It's okay to not like a show. Not everyone will like the new BSG just as not everyone likes Firefly and not everyone likes any other show on television. But to waste so much energy on absolutely hating the show is incredibly ridiculous. Stating an opinion is fine, but going on and on and on and on about it as if your opinion is right is beyond frakked up. I can understand if some fans of the classic series simply don't like the new series, but to be upset about it to the point where you'd watch the new series for the sole reason of picking it apart and hammering on it is just wrong. If you don't enjoy it, don't watch it. Why is that such a problem? Constantly hatin' on the show isn't going to make it go away. It's a successful show and Sci-Fi will keep it going as long as it is. If you don't like it, just ignore it. Watch something you do like. How hard is that?

Exactly.
But really XG, keep at it if it makes you happy. I've stopped reading the thread for discussion of the show.
At this point, I keep coming back strictly watch you blow up over nothing, over and over.

Ahh. Here we go again.
Let's see... history lesson. I expressed my feelings ~ i.e. "I hate this show because... (reason #1, #2, #3, etc.).
People asked me questions, I answered. People challenged me, I challenged them back (point versus counter-point).
Then comes the never-ending slieu of fanatical fans who:
(1) distort or mischaracterize what I say,
(2) fixate on trivial shit and try to focus attention away from the substance of the debate,
or
(3) gimme the "Heard you the first time. You don't like the show, and now you're repeating yourself".
You've just fallen into category 3 my idiotic friend.
I only reply when any one of the 3 from above occur. That's a fact. I'm not repeating myself nor have I ever. But you'll thump your chest, claim I did, and think chicks dig you because of it (no matter what I say).
Storymark:
Grow some nads dude. Can't reply to me direct?
I feel like I'm trying to play chess with someone whose top-speed is Tic-Tac-Toe. Rubik's Cube would prolly make your head explode (you genius you).

Dear XeroGravity. I can plainly see that you are not easily put down or persuaded, you like to stand your ground and give em what for. And that's fine, I can respect that. I can see why you would want to debate what you believe against those who don't agree, and that's fine as well. And the very fact that will actually go ahead and watch a show you don't even like, just so you can gain further intell on what you are debating, that's all dandy.
Although I do not agree with what you have to say, I will defend to the death your right to say it.
I try to make it a point not to have flame wars on the internet past the point where I find it silly. Anyway, so now that's all settled, what shows do you actually like? Personally I find BSG to be fantastic writing and all that, but if you do not agree, then what shows do you actually agree to?
This is an actual question. I'm not trying to be a dick.

TMurrie:
Ahh. The intellectual approach.
Of course you're trying to be a dick. Stop lying fool. I can smell a set-up on you from a mile away. Ask me a question with no simple or short answer. What shows do I agree to?
Let's see. Umm... the ones that are (1) based on science, and (2) fictional.
Quote me some more "Voltaire". Or did a woman say that first? Odd... I recall seeing a man say that first. But, then I read too much. That's a puzzle I'll leave unsolved for those who opt to not read.
Just believe what the boob-tube (and the "search engines") tell you. Sheep need to obey.
To "somewhat" answer your question...
I've watched and seen it all.
Your question is prolly the only one I've seen asked that is worthwhile through this whole thread. But it would take toooooo many keypunches to answer it justly. I'll give you a partial (and beginning answer). I'll touch the tip of the iceberg. And then, I'll listen to the BSG fan-whorez call me all kinds of names. They always win.
Shows I love... I'll start with olde school (and this is only partial, I can't list ~ and explain ~ them all)
The original "Star Trek" (TOS) ~
...including the 3rd season where the Studio whored Roddenberry and took it out of his hands. They needed to bring the up-and-coming directors out of the shadows. His show was the perfect place to do it. It was sci-fi. Sci-fi was a joke. "Mars Needs Women"!!! Nobody takes this shit serious. But let's humor the insignifigant sub-culture of TV viewers who love science and think that all great future-fiction revolves around it.
The whores hated sci-fi. They had a bunch of xero-talent writers and xero-talent directors they had to give a shot to... (Studio Exec. relatives, pay-me-back deals, etc.)
They killed a show (TOS) that should have lived. But they spawned a fanatical fanbase that would push sci-fi forward to where it is now (even though it's still as whored-out as it was in Roddenberry's day).
I also "loved" the original Doctor Who. Which is about to get whored like the old BSG.
Lemme guess... the new Doc will have a Brit accent (an absolute must), but it'll be all modernday politics compared to ancient history.
There is also "Blake's 7" too but that is too "olde school" and not mainstream.
Anyhow... there's a basic beginning to an answer.
Why don't you ask me something simple like "What's the meaning of life?" or "Why do we exist?" or "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-roll Tootsie-pop?"
