Don't think it's "a dream" or any such situation.
Ron Moore said in an interview a couple days ago that the first 4-5 episodes next season would deal with the Cylon occupation of New Caprica, but that they would start looking for Earth again by mid-way through the season.
"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

Remember the cylon's switch in their way of thinking? They first wanted to wipe out humanity, now they thing it is their job to save humanity from itself.
I think next season we will see them in the role of "benevolent dictators". Sure, they will be doing all kinds of horrible things to the humans, but it will be for our own good now.
If the writers can't find material in that rich environment, they should be shot.

Just pissed about the whole October thing...
I didn't see the whole skip ahead a year thing either.
I am still fuzzy on the whole nuke thing too. How could the Cylons have detected it a light year away through the nebula cloud? If Draedus can't see anything until it is right on top of you & even the planet is hidden from sensors until you are inside the cloud then how is it that the Cylons detected the nuke that far away?

You know, that's a good point. Hmm...nope, nothing there. So it would seem that they detected it while they were a light year away, but still waited a year to gather up their forces before jumping in-system?

The radiation from the nuke travels at... wait for it... the speed of light! ;)
If you're a light year away, if you spotted the blast as soon as any detectable effects reached you, that would be a year from the time the blast happened.
Also, presumably a nuke blast produces a lot of gamma radiation, which tends to go through just about everything. Nebula clouds, presumably, included.

"Well, duh" just went bouncing around inside my head. I feel reeeealy smart right now. :bluch:
Thanks for pointing that out, sab39!! Makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking.

Radation causes Draedus blockage as well but that the signs of radation are dectectable by other means that Draedus.

Kinda nice when the solution is obvious like that......
Nothing like Star Trek at all
" Over and in, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done "

I don't see how anyone who follows this show hasn't seen it yet, but I'll just play it safe.
Select to view spoiler:
Not only didn't I care for the simplistic voter fraud scenario ( oh, we switched the ballot boxes ? No worries, no investigation , Baltar, you're the President. ), I also didn't care for the whole Peace in our time turn of events. After what they went though, to just accept the Cylon's change of heart at face value? No frackin' way!
People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I think if you haven't seen the episode you should avoid this thread but still better safe then have someone else be sorry and crying in their soup.

I don't think you would even have to think about the Cylons change of heart. Baltar made the Promise to settle on New Caprica before the Cylons told them that they were changing their hearts. The people just thought that world was a safe place to stay. It's just an non-issue for the people of twelve colonies. What would you do? Keep running from them or stay on a world that would have been completely safe if Baltar had never given that Six the Warhead in the first place. So when the Cylons land and don't just kill every one out right I think you just have to accept what it happening or just get killed in the process. What about what Kara Thace said at the end. So even though she is forced to stand there and take it for now, she vows to fight till her very last breath. Even the Adamas vow to return to fight. The real question is how can the win against an emeny that is so overwhemingly powerful?
