BSG Season 2 finale..

But I still love Battlestar, its just a very close second to Firefly.

It irked me that Moore has never paid homage to Joss and Firefly when he clearly has stolen some of Joss's concepts..

It was definitely a great season finale...

I liked the leap in time - I felt like the show moved a little slow, so it was great that they shook things up like that.

I didn't like that they let the military go the way they did. It just didn't make sense. They know the cylons are out there looking for them, so why would they get so lax? I just don't get it.

I didn't notice Adama's wedding ring - very cool detail. I'm looking forward to that story.

And a heavy Apollo was kind of silly...

Overall, I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for October.

That finale is one of the reasons I love the show, and the Sci-Fi channel for the way they promote it. They don't push all the surprises on you during the promos. FOX or CBS (in the States) would have been all over the 1-year jump in the previews, trying to say "Look at how clever we are!".

And Baltar... his true colors come out, not because he's really evil, but he's self-serving and in power, so he does what he wants and to hell with everyone else. (And no, I'm not going to go political.)

I'm curious as to where they are going to go from here, though. But I'll be watching!

As an aside, In the documentary I mentioned above the actor who plays Apollo (Jamie Bamber I think) is interviewed, he looks totally different and speaks with an english accent! Just seemed totally wierd.

Go and have a look at the "Hornblower" episodes - Jamie Bamber played Hownblower's oh-so-british chum Archie. Now, *that* was an english accent.

I've been told that the "Hornblower" series is pretty good but i've never given it a go, is it worth the watch?

I loved the BSG S2 finale.

I thought the leap in time was brilliant. At first, it threw me for a loop cause they jumped forward a year and, therefore, there were a number of changes that I needed to process in the short period of time before the close of the episode. But I think it was a great move. Showing that everybody has become complacent. I believe that's why the one-year leap was necessary. People won't relax overnight. It would take awhile for everyone to settle into their daily routines and take on new roles and responsiblities and ultimately forget about the Cylons. Remember that they were led to believe that the Cylons were going to leave them alone, not only being told as much by one of the Cylons, but it was also demonstrated to Starbuck and her group during their rescue mission on Caprica when the Cylons pulled out. The Cylons totally lulled them into a false sense of security.

I really can't wait to see where we go from here. Not just with how the Adamas plan on cutting through the Cylons and getting their people off the planet and to safety, but also the little stories. What will come of the Six/Baltar reunion? Will the Cylons somehow discover that Sharon's baby is among them? How will Sharon react now that she's on the other side of the cell door, so to speak?

October seems so far away.

So how many people thought that when the preacher starts praying on Caprica and everybody takes their helmets off, they were all going to get shot in the head?

They kind of deserved it too. Why? First, they don't know the enemies not out there; they just can't see them. PLUS! Why did nobody question the preacher's (whose not in combat gear and fairly unruffled) presence? Think about it. From Starbuck's point of view, it's kind of understandable. He could have been with the football dudes and she just didn't notice him in all the shooting. But what about her boyfriend? He should know whose with his crew (especially since he knows the cyons look like us now). So if the guy's not with them, he must have been with Starbuck's crew. Except why would they bring a preacher and not even give him combat gear?

See that's the kind of gaping plot hole that really irks me. It would have been so COOL if they all take off their helmets and everybody gets shot except the main people and a few red shirts for later and they all get captured and have to escape or something.

Plus, they completely forgot about the farms of "thousands of pregnant ladies" and what's up with Starbuck's torso scar? Apparently that has had no lasting effect.
