(Location: Infirmary)

*yells after Fly*

Thanks again for saving my gorram backside!

*finishes coffee and takes a drag from his cigar*

*swings legs over bed and gingerly tests wounded leg*

*grimaces*

Best give the meds time to take effect.

*lays back down and thinks about all the work that needs doing...*

*relaxes and smiles around his cigar*

We will hold...we hold till Mal gets back.

*As she started heading out the door to the galley she heard Jack yell*

*She turns back around and gives Jack a big hug and a smile*

No problem, you'd do it for me Jack, anytime bud!

* and proceeds to give him a high five*

*Walking to the galley she passes Radar hummin' his tune*

Mornin' Radar, nice toss with the tomato yesterday, saved our butts.

Thanks!

*She touches his head as she passes him*

*David stumbles in looking grimmer than usual with his plastic nose protector and a pair of desperately uncool shades failing to hide his two black eyes.*

Coffee. Must have coffee.

*poors cup - stirring in three heaping tablespoons of sugar - and notices the pot is almost empty. grumbles. starts fresh pot*

*Once she reaches that galley she sees Pain there*

Hey, hows the arm?

Saw Jack this morn'n, he seems to be doing OK.

Yea, we got a note from Rocket last night. Saw him just a couple of seconds ago

*she proceeds to fill Pain in*

**Now our next stop -- I asked the Cap'n -- is on New Hall, which isn't a problem, but after that we're shaping orbit for Persephone, which is altogether too close to the core to be carrying imprinted goods without a luxury tax receipt. Especially the way the Feds have cracked down since the Miranda riots.

So--we have four days, five at most to run this haul through our metabolisms. Towards this goal, I recommend using some of that olive oil on those lovely tomatoes -- there's vinegar already on the shelf, I checked -- and I'll bake some sourdough tomorrow, so that we can do a vinegar-and-oil sop to go with that quarter-wheel of white cheddar.

Alternatively, if someone could dummy up passible receipts for the load, we could take our time, and stretch this stuff out for weeks...**
Oh, saw my note, eh? Good thing we have Sameertia aboard; seems the stash I brought in yesterday was just one crate out of a dozen--no way we'll get through it all before Persephone, and despite New Hall being a newly opened colony, there's a chance they'll be able to offer us a decent price--but with all the Feds you find in a new port, we'll need the paper.

Did a little reading on the cortex last night--seems that NewHall (the gap between the words is optional) is kind of the Alliance's big success story for the border worlds; by accident no less. The terraforming process brought all sorts of rich ores close to the surface. Bad news for farming, they're barely sustaining, too much heavy metal in the soil, but they've got trading ignots up the kahoojis.

So the first crate is ours, but the rest might just be a payday.**

Slept well I hope?

*She starts to make the Italian tomatoes for supper later*

*She smiles at Pain*

Glad no hangover

Great job yesterday

*She slices the tomatoes real thin and places them on a platter*

*She drizzles olive oil, puts the garlic, basil and orgegano all over them*

*Puts the plate in the fridge for later*

*Sits next to Pain and takes his FOB*

So, looks like we have a few days of r&r

*grabs a fresh cup of coffe from the pot David made*

Thanks for the fresh pot David

Radar smiles and follows Fly into the galley. Just glad to help out. Smells great in here. Walks around and plops down into a chair over in the alcove

(Location: Infirmary)

*finishes his first cigar of the day, looks around for a good place to put the butt, smiles and places it in what appears to be an empty specimen tube*

*puts on shirt and climbs out of the bed*

GORRAMIT!

*rubs leg and looks around quickly to see if anybody heard him yell out*

*grabs his cane and heads for his quarters...very, very slowly*

*gets up to grab another FOB after Fly snatches the one in his hand.*

*gives a short chuckle at it*

Yep kinda lookin' forwards to the next couple o' days. Don't have to worry about gettin' shot. Guess that means I can take a load off until we hit New Hall.

*sticks hand in back pocket and pulls out a deck of cards.*

Anybody up for a game of Tall Card?

*sits back down next to Fly.*
