*She wakes up from a long restfull sleep*
*Graps some coffee from the Galley someone made*
*Walks from the Galley down to the Common Area*
*Sees ships cat, picks up cat, lounges and waits for others*

We haven't named you yet Kitty

*seems from Rocket's last message from yesterday, our plans are to head to New Hall*
*looks like we have a couple of days r&r*

*sips coffee and relaxes reflecting what happened*
*Glad everyone is OK*

*wakes up in infirmary...and for the life of him can't remember what happened after sitting in the galley*

*checks his leg - the foam bandage the doc put on is holding, so he decides to relax a bit and take advantage of the sickbay's comfy bed*

*reaches into his shirt pocket hanging over the chair beside him and pulls out a slightly bent cigar*

Will the doc mind if I smoke in his lab?

*answers himself in a pretty accurate imitation of Simon*

Ah...no of course not Jack. Just make it quick.

*returns to his own voice*

Thanks doc you're the Bees Knees.

*lights cigar, laces fingers behind his head, and smiles*

Ah...Life Aboard Serenity

We will hold...we hold till Mal gets back.

*She hears sounds of movement in the Med Bay and heads in to see how Jack is doin'*

Jack, glad to see you're OK

Quite a day yesterday, if it weren't for Radar and his good arm with the tomato closing the doors, I don't know what would have happened

You OK?

*She moves in closer to inspect his leg*

*hands him a cup of coffee*

*takes cup of coffee*

Thanks Fly.

*tries to act tough*

No my leg don't hurt...I have a high tolerance to pain...

*flinches when Fly inspects his bandage*

Well...I have a medium tolerance to pain.

*takes a sip from his cup*

Radar saved our skins with his tomato toss...which reminds me...Pain should give him a few grenades if we ever get into another scrape like that.

Where are we headed?

We will hold...we hold till Mal gets back.

Yea, I think Radar would be really handy with grenades.

Well, I saw a note that Rocket left.

*Hands Jack the note*

Looks like we some time off

**Now our next stop -- I asked the Cap'n -- is on New Hall, which isn't a problem, but after that we're shaping orbit for Persephone, which is altogether too close to the core to be carrying imprinted goods without a luxury tax receipt. Especially the way the Feds have cracked down since the Miranda riots.

So--we have four days, five at most to run this haul through our metabolisms. Towards this goal, I recommend using some of that olive oil on those lovely tomatoes -- there's vinegar already on the shelf, I checked -- and I'll bake some sourdough tomorrow, so that we can do a vinegar-and-oil sop to go with that quarter-wheel of white cheddar.

Alternatively, if someone could dummy up passible receipts for the load, we could take our time, and stretch this stuff out for weeks...**

*reads note*

Doctoring up some phony receipts sounds right up Sameertia's alley. She did a great job with the papers for Whitefall.

I was thinking the same thing....Sameertia is great for that.

*Wonders how Pain is this mornin'*

And looks like I'll have to make some of those Italian tomatoes tonight.

Think I'll make them now and put the in the fridge for you guys.

The longer they sit the better.

*Looks at Jack and gives him a big smile*

Great job yesterday Jack!

*she leaves and heads for the galley*

Radar crawls outta his bunk after realizing that he slept through dinner the night before. Shrugging to himself he moves into the cargo bay and takes post in his usual spot on the catwalk humming his usual tune

New Hall.... he breaks his melody to utter the phrase and then continues right on humming as if he never stopped. Kinda seems like he dosn't even notice he said it...

Hmmmph. G'mrninggh. Guh-mrrnnigngh..

(Sniffs air)

Coffee?

(pours cup, adds sugar, downs in one long gulp.)

Aaah! COFFEE! Good morning!

(I am not now, nor have I ever been, a morning person.)

Oh, saw my note, eh? Good thing we have Sameertia aboard; seems the stash I brought in yesterday was just one crate out of a dozen--no way we'll get through it all before Persephone, and despite New Hall being a newly opened colony, there's a chance they'll be able to offer us a decent price--but with all the Feds you find in a new port, we'll need the paper.

Did a little reading on the cortex last night--seems that NewHall (the gap between the words is optional) is kind of the Alliance's big success story for the border worlds; by accident no less. The terraforming process brought all sorts of rich ores close to the surface. Bad news for farming, they're barely sustaining, too much heavy metal in the soil, but they've got trading ignots up the kahoojis.

So the first crate is ours, but the rest might just be a payday.

Well, it's tomorrow's worry anyway--I'm going to start making up some sourdough.

*yawns*

*gets up from bunk and gets dressed.*

*opens bunk hatch and climbs out.*

*smells the coffee brewin' and heads to the galley.*

So what're the plans for today if you don't mind my askin'?

*pours himself a cup of joe and grabs a couple of FOBs.*

*sits in a chair near the table and opens the fisrt FOB.*
