Kaele, I must say you are doin' a fine job as assistant storeroom clerk.... you haven't missed a one of these new recruits... really you are doin' great......

I'm sorta in a quandary here, as I don't wanna gripe when I couldn't have done without you...but there's this little matter of some missin' pics. How come is it everytime I leave you in charge of the storeroom, my Mal pics are rifled thru and mussed up? Now availing your ownself of lookin' at them... well, that is irresistible and understandable. But there are a few missin' pics, and did I read that the Cap'n wanted some for himself? Are you sure about that fact... cuz I figger he'd a asked me about that...

I'm sure you'll fill me in on this when you report?

*bats eyelashes*

Well, gee, FollowMal, you'll have to go ask the Cap'n his own self about that one.

*snaps fingers*

But you know, darn it all, he's off on a meetin'. Right nasty creatures they are too, should be no more'n a few hours. Cap'n will get them all sorted out.

In the meantime, I'll just...go...check...and see if he's done with those pics...

*runs*

* smiles indulgently*

That girl is always in a hurry.... looks sideways at everyone else....*

NOT!

KAELE! You wanna come back here and give me your report regarding all new recruits and browncoat givin' and such.... and while you're at it, perhaps those pics of Mal...er * cough* the Cap'n will resurface... you know... in a few minutes.... mayhaps miraculously!

We're all with you.
I saw the first show when it aired, and never wanted to do anything else with my life.
Except maybe make out with Jewel Staite...

Yep. That would really be all i'd need.
(Too bad that girl is already married, and likes to buy expensive dresses.)

Must remember to ask her about this.

Many thanks for the lovely welcome. And I know nothing about any pictures, no sirree, why, I've barely got the shiny rubbed off my combat boots...

I read your thread additions over on the making a Firefly religion thread and I must say, BrowncoatGhost, Mrs. Fillion taught you English well. You are quite talented with words. I can't help but hope that perhaps you might pen us some fanfic to ease our weary waiting as Browncoats?!

Why, thank you! I've had a writing Muse since I was about 7 or so, and Mrs. Fillion made a point of encouraging her to come out of the parchment room more often. She had a way of making the course material very interesting, I'll say -- extremely funny lady. Though her Classroom That Was is fifteen years gone, I've never forgotten her ways. I now write some and edit lots for a partial living. As for fanfic, hmmm...I've written fanfic before, just not for this 'verse, and it hadn't occurred to me to do some. I'll have to see what yonder Muse thinks.

And kiwi.... quite a purchase.. you ARE a clever Browncoat. A new hat for trade... I like that.

Also got him a real silkworm-spun tie. It brightens up his very fancy jacket, though he can only wear it in attempts to impress fancier people. Oh well.

*peels and slices a kiwi, then offers FollowMal and fellow Browncoats a small bowl of whipped cream with some kiwi slices stuck in the top* Fresh from a certain floating island. Kindly partake of the evidence before they notice half their garden is missing.

You know I never actually got a browncoat, but then again I've got a coat I really like that has a kinda brownish color, so I suppose I'm good.

We didn't really have a distribution system back then, FollowMal has singlehandedly made sure we get the proper supplies to all of the newcomers.

Chris, would you like a browncoat from my storeroom? Cuz I've got one that will fit you, and you have no idea how proud I'd be to give you one.

You've pretty much echoed my exact thoughts.

I've never been this nuts about a TV show....ever.

Kinda sneaks right up and smacks you in the face, don't it?

Ditto. I've had shows that I liked, even shows that I'd try to schedule my time around so's not to miss 'em... but never a show that made me want to join a fan site just to talk about how freaking great it was. Until Firefly broke atmo and landed in my little neck of the 'verse.

And, like many, I found it late. Last summer, to be exact, just a couple months before the movie came out. When I saw the first commercial for the BDM on my TV, I was just about jumping out of my chair with glee. I couldn't belive it was actually happening - this ship, this crew that I loved so dearly and missed so much (and after such a short time together)... it was flying again!

Oh, and if we're all out of cookies and strawbs again, I might be able to whip up a little treat: chocolate-dipped strawberries. If you've never had them, they're... sublime (and not in the "they're beneath limes" sense!). I'm all out of cookies, but maybe I could trade some Fruity-Oaty Bars for a new brown coat. I think mine got lost in the mail. ;)

To all the newcomers, latecomers, and those who just came in "fashionably late" (like me): Welcome Home. This is one of the shiniest places in the 'verse, with the best gorram people you'd ever want on your ship. It doesn't matter when you got here; how you got here is the worthier part. And that you got here is the worthiest part indeed.

Mike
