You don't like the new BSG, we get that. The old BSG would have been great(er) if the networks hadn't meddled, we get that too. But you called my friend a jackass for no good reason, 'cept perhaps she poked fun at you.

I was willing to read to your arguments, even though I disagree with most of them. The way you polarize the issue - something is either the greatest ever, or the absolute worst - is a great attitude for blind polemics, not so much for a discussion among friends.

Let's just watch the namecalling, eh? No, I'm no-one important. No penalty for telling me to go to hell. I'm just a Browncoat, asking for a little civility.

Afreakinmen. I have noted a tendency on any forum type site I'm on that you will always find someone who is overly opinionated and under socialized enough to flame anyone who disagrees with them.

As to BSG, I'm going to be catching up with it once the second season rolls over into reruns. It's a good show if you don't make the mistake so many obviously have. It's not the original. Don't compare it to the original. The original was good for it's time but it would fail miserablly in today's market.

BSG is my favorite. That episode of SCAR was really good And Scar will be back which is even better.

Unfortunately, Scar won't be back. Remember, they destroyed the Ressurection Ship? It was one of the few (very few) standout episodes of Season 2.5, though. Since it's restarted for season 2.5, I've enjoyed Ressurection Ship (both parts), Scar, and now Downloaded - everything else in there was pretty lousy.

They destroyed A resurrection ship, chances are like with all things Cylon, there'll be another. You don't think they'd spend 40 years of planning galactic domination and only build one surely?

Enter stage left:

You come charging to the rescue (you're so very heroic). There's always your type out there... cloaked in false group-hug humanitarianism ~ can't debate the facts before you gotta step in and announce "let the healing begin." Oh... let's not forget you get your digs in, insult me, and try to couch it in a fakey-ass heartwarming aura of wholesome goodness. I love the subtle insinuation that somehow I've already stated the facts of my case (which I hadn't). Perhaps your debating tact seems smart to you, but I can see you've been mercifully spared the ravages of intelligence. You're an idiot.

I know your type.. you can be found in Starbucks buying $5 cups of coffee (double-tall cafe latte decaf with soymilk), you hang out with alienated nihilists and existentialists (wannabes that run in packs), you have pseudo-intellectual discussions where everyone is categorized as "obtuse" or "bourgeoisie" or "blind polemics".

I have a picture of you in my mind... ponytail, wire-rim glasses, turtleneck, black beret and goatee, probably playing the bongos.

Stereotype much? If we were to follow the same thought process I'd have to say you're either a suit wearing tightwad conservative or maybe the other direction and the angry neogoth that calls their poor social potty training "angst" or "moral outrage". Maybe you're just spoiling for the stimulation of an argument?

Well, it is my understanding that because there was no Res Ship, Scar wouldn't have been able to download to anywhere. I'm sure they could bring another Res ship in given enough time, but not in enough time to save Scar.

I've watched the show a couple of times and I love it, but... I can't get past the "Fracking" instead of "F***ing" language. Farscape had Frell and Firefly has Gorramn. They fit well, but "Frack" makes my cringe when I hear it.

What the last episode? The one whne Boomer is reborn and the resistance blows up the cafe? Anyway... Boomer yells something like "Why?! Because I'm a Fracking Cyclon!!" It made me cringe and ruined the whole scene for me.

Just my opinion.

Well, just be glad that the writers didnt choose the original BSG swear word and insult....what was it, oh, yes, it was Phelgercarb, or something like that. I'm so GLAD that the new BSG didnt decide to use this!

Ok. Over time. I'm gonna respond to all of this. This is just alot to respond to.

I thought I was having a private pissing war with Frau KNIBBLET and her heathen horde of band-wagon minions.

Apparently not.

River90210:

"Frack" was the major curseword from the original BSG.

Don't ever forget that. This ain't some invention of the almighty Moore-whore. He lifted it from the original show.

*River90210? LoL!*

Oh god! Here we go!
Yes Xerogravity, I know Frak was a swear word that they used in the original BSG, but Phelgercarb was a running 2nd. I recently watched the whole season of the original BSG just for old times sake, and Phelgercarb was used a lot! I'm SO glad they decided not to use it in the new series because is sounds SO stupid. Frak is passable, Phelgercarb is just plain icky. And yes, I know the writers of the new BSG lifted "frak" from the old series.

Also, in the original series, Pyramid was a card game not a ball/court game in case you didnt notice. You should show up in the Sci-Fi Forum and try your arguments out in the BSG room...it would be fun to watch those die-hard BSG fans smack you around....I'll bring the popcorn.

By the way, comparing the old BSG with the new BSG is just like comparing the 1960s series Batman with the latest movie Batman Begins. You can't compare them, and if you do indeed like the old BSG better than the new one, which you stated that you didnt, well, I really don't know what to say to you regarding that, but I can say this...you are missing out, you really are.

Xerogravity, I'm a strange one, but you are even stranger...whats your story? I don't expect an answer to that since you are so uptight, but I thought I would give it a try. I know you have to maintain your image as The Savior of Rome.
