Ok...
I discovered Joss when the trailer for Serenity aired, and have since seen all of Firefly (at least twice), and loved them all.
A few weeks back I started getting into Buffy, just to - you know - get to learn more about this genius that is coming up with these shows...
Well, today I saw the Body. Best. Hour. Of. TV. Ever.
I thought Hush was a masterpiece, I had to see it twice...
Triangle, the whole episode very funny, but Willow, while bantering with Anya, delivering the perfect line "Well, Hello, Gay Now"... just had me laughing out loud...
"The Body", what can I say... I've never had my tears coming this much, while still having the occasional laugh, at a TV show like ever...
Well... Just had to get that off my chest, carry on now :)
(first post also :P)

This thread leads to my thoughts on this incredible episode. By far, the best one of the whole series.
I don't know if you're into SIX FEET UNDER, but it basically stretches what THE BODY dealt with over five years. It's created by the same guy that created AMERICAN BEAUTY, Alan Ball. It's one of my fave shows ever, and I think you'd love it.

"YES!!!I'm a man posessed by many demons....Polite demons that would open the door for a lady carrying too many parcels...BUT DEMONS NONETHELESS!!!! Yes. I have walked along the path of evil many times, it's a twisting, curving path that..actually leads to a charming plot garden, BUT BEYOND THAT EVIL!!!"

Am amazing episode that can still hit me like a ton of bricks any time I watch it. One of the best episodes of television I've ever seen.

Thanks for the pointer... Didn't realize there already was a thread for this episode... I was just so amazed by it's awesomeness :)
TV history!
I guess it's finally hitting me... Joss is my master now.

What can I say about the Body?
Just reflecting on it now brings tears to my eyes. Buffy's reaction, her panic and the physical revulsion that follows. Giles's confusion and comfort. Willow and her shirts with silly things on them and Tara's support. Xander's anger and pain and the hole in the wall that proved it. Dawn's collapse in her school hallway. And Anya... Anya's speech just wrecks me every time.
The decision to not include a musical score for this epidose was a perfect choice. It leaves the viewer stripped and raw the way the characters must be feeling. It is beautifully filmed and these actors delivered Oscar-calibre performances that leave me to wonder who the hell is running the show at the Golden Globes/Emmys/People's Choice.
I sometimes can't even finish watching the episode prior, because it ends with Buffy in that red shirt... you just know what's coming!
This is a spectacular example of what televison can be if left in the right and capable hands of Joss and co.

Everything Buffy is awesome in my book but "The Body" was an exceptional episode!

Yes, The Body was probably the most powerful hour of tv ever created. It ripped me apart, and I loved it. When Buffy ended, Fox had an auction of screen used Buffy merch. on E-Bay. I got the phone(the one Buffy uses to call 911) from that episode. It's my favorite Buffy collectible.

Yes, if I had to pick a best episode of buffy, that would be it. It's the most powerful episode of television I've ever seen, Joss really outdid himself on that one.
