Jumping in here--
I was the one who posted about the extension to 2/2 with likely extension to 2/9 followed by definite extension to 2/9 info. I am indeed a member of the SoCal Browncoats. The reason I even called the guy at the theater was to see about how long the run was going to be as we wanted to see about meeting up for a last viewing. Once he heard the soonest we could do it was 2/4, he said he'd go to 2/9 to make sure we could do our thing. Hope that helps.
P.S. I think adult admission is actually $7 (according to the recording, which conflicts with some web pages, but there you go).
P.P.S. [added Feb 1] The theater was closed Monday, 1/31. I called and they said there was a staffing problem, and Thursday was touch and go, but the weekend was OK. Sooooo, if you're thinking of heading up, please call ahead to the direct box office line at (714) 547-6145 to confirm the showing.

Ok, now here's my other question: Any idea why I keep running into a one-week gap in the data for Serenity at this theater, somewhere in December? Do I just keep getting crappy data from some sources, or was there an actual gap somewhere? Maybe so they could switch from first-run to second-run (since venues get a better deal in second-run)?
(Note: I don't ask to try to damage Santa Ana's leader-of-the-pack reputation as far as showing the movie, heh. Even if there WERE a one-week gap in there somewhere, you'd still beating us up here in Portland anyway.)

I don't know. I'll try to get it out of Mr. Blood when I talk to him next. It seems like there's been at least a couple of one day gaps due to staffing glitches, but I'll see what I can find out about a week gap.

Save 2 more seats at the Shindig!
---------------------------------------------
Two recent recruits here.
We just watched all the Fire Fly episodes for the first time last week. We were going to watch the Serenity movie on DVD for the First time tonight ... but I found THIS place and found out about the BDShindig on Saturday. Of course, what better way to see the BDM for the fist time than on the big screen.
That being said, we will be at the Buster Pub at 6pm in Coats of Brown (literally) and hope to meet up with you folks.
I cant think of a better way to watch the movie than surrounded by a troop of Brown Coats.
Over and out,
~Black

And FYI, on the subject of Santa Ana and Portland, it's down to Santa Ana. Laurelhurst Theater here in Portland has not extended it yet another week, and it's final show is Friday, February 2.

Great! So nice to hear of people finding Firefly and Serenity even now. (did you join the yahoo group?)
We'll definitely see you there.
And an update for everyone. While the theater and restaurant are close on the map, it seems like it will be a hassle to actually walk. So we'll most likely drive to eat, and then drive over to the theater.

So are we going to recognize you by the eypatch, the wooden leg, the parrot, the "arrrrggg", or a combination of any/all the above?

There's plenty more happening in SoCal. We plan monthly shindigs throughout the region on the Yahoo group.
