It makes perfect sense. The entertainment biz moves on money and numbers alone.
A centralized DB of demographics is needed to convince the suits of anything, and is lacking at this moment.
I've told everyone I know to signup at this site for Season 2, and you should too. There can be no harm in trying, only in not trying.

What I think this means is that we all have a place to go to say, "Yes, damn it, sign me up! This is how much I'd pay."

It's a fine idea, though I dislike the fact that it's a little dishonest about it. But yes, it's a machine to collect the marketing info that might actually convince someone to make season 2.

I went ahead and signed up. There isn't much I wouldn't do to bring Firefly back. Serenity was amazing and fantastic, and if the movie studios of the world had sense they'd have Joss Whedon make all of the movies everywhere he's just that great, BUT if Joss is willing to do Firefly as a tv series again, that would be my first choice for the future of Firefly. Here's hoping! :)

I wouldn't say "hoax"...I mean, if you're thinking it's actually a legit "Season 2 is in the works right now!" thing, then no. But they're not asking for money or anything, just info...might go about it a bit vaguely and the like, but it's not like they're trying to get you to pay them or anything.

In fact, its probably costing them money, whoever "them" is, since I've already seen it pop up on Google's Sponsored Links, which I believe costs money to advertise.

I don't want to say "hoax" either, but I did notice Glock became a member the day of this thread and has not made any other posts. Ok, that might not mean anything, but it makes me reluctant to provide any identifying information on the website.

Well the only real information I had to provide was my name and home state, hell you can find that in any old whore house in New Jersy.
