What brings Firefly to mind for You?

So what made you think of Firefly? last week while watching Two Guys & Girl, Johnny (played by Nathan Fillion for them as could still be unaware) accidentally saw Ashley's boobs, but it was a line sometime after she and Sharon got done laughing at him that made me think Firefly -

"I'll be in my room..."

Well, I was visiting my mother and watching Ground Force with her, when suddenly the television was filled with the image of Charlie blowing up a blue glove. I gasped.

Mother noticed my gasp and said, "You're too old to get excited over that woman not wearing a bra."

"No, no, it isn't Charlie's nippl....I mean lack of a bra. Its the blue glove."

Mother, eyeing me strangely, repeated rather slowly, "Its the blue glove..."

I had taken my wife to see Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, when about half way through the movie...

there was a scene were Captain Jack Sparrow was speaking to Elizabeth. He asked her if she knew what a ship was. "It's not a deck, or sails, or planks, or masts, a ship needs all those things to be a ship, sure. But that's not what a ship is. It's...freedom." This reminded me about the discussion that Mal had with Zoe, when she only saw Serenity for what it is and not what it could be...freedom.

My six year old daughter sometimes ,uhm, alters the truth to best suit her needs... Anyway, she was blaming an incident on her little brother and I asked her... "Are you lying?" at which point she said "Am I a lion?" She has not seen FF so she wasn't trying to be funny but it spooked me a bit cause she sounded just like Jubal Early

She understands, she doesn't comprehend

The DVDs in the Target ad keep bringing it to the forefront somehow. I think I'm expecting a picture of it to appear with "newly released" next to it. Yes, I'm fully aware it's only almost August.

Eating with chopsticks - haven't tried it with tomato slices yet, although I have been meaning to.

Strawberries at Cub are looking mighty scrumptious right now!

Watching Peacemakers on USA last night, the marshal had a confrontation with a baddie he knew from the Civil War and I mentioned to my sister I completely expected him to say something like "You gone and got yourself looking mighty hideous."

Driving home from a parade in NW Minnesota, we drove past a sign at the end of a really long country driveway. The sign had the sillouette of a horse on it, but it was the name that got me smiling; it said "Serenity Farm."

There's a house on the outskirts of Alexandria, MN, that has what looks like the same kind of silver heat-shield siding that the Heart of Gold does. My hand to God.

I was mopping the floor in a building that our company is going to rent out when my boss walked in with this lady who was planning on starting up a new company and was interested in renting from us. She walks in, looks around and...

Lady: It's smallish.
Boss: Well how much room do you really need for what you do?

I almost died. I burst out laughing and got the you-better-get-your-ass-back-to-work look from my boss. Of course then they started talking about making asphalt and it ruined the effect.

Caught that the other night. I liked, "I really don't want to have to kill you tonight."

Also, the detective really surprised me with the knife-throwing, nearly as much as when Simon jumps off of the catwalk in 'Serenity'.

Minor quibble, the way they bring the detective onboard, at the end, isn't very convincing. It is something of a Firefly substitute, though

An advertisement came on TV today for a new show and they called it "a western CSI" but I could of sworn they said "a western sci fi". I even managed to convinced myself for a few seconds that it was an ad for Firefly, dusty towns, horses and all.
