You do know it's winter, right? Means lots of clouds and such?

Keely, when the check arrives, could you kindly tear it into itty bitty pieces and dispose of it? I think that's the easiest thing to do. It's ridiculous to have you mail it back to me or pay $30 to have it cancelled.

You forget he just came from an island 15 degrees from the equator. Give him time to adjust.

Thanks CMS. Is it really 15 degrees above the equator? But even if i had come from New Hampshire, i'd still be complaining about how I only see the sun once a week for above 2-3 hours...

Oh, and what should i make for dinner tonight? i'm thinking spagatti?

Speaking of complaining about the weather like the rest of you. I need a new pair of shoes, and i've been told most people after there teenage years stop wearing the white sneakers i'm so fond of. This true?

You need easy meals?

Well, spaghetti is easy, but it can get boring.

Let's see: cut up potatoes into big chunks, toss them in a bit of olive oil and garlic, throw them on a cookie sheet and bake them at 350 degrees until they're brown. Stir them occasinally so they cook evenly.

You can do the same with string beans or asparagus. They come out yummy that way. Just make sure to use the olive oil sparingly.

Put a chicken breast on a piece of aluminum foil, add a pat of butter and one bay leaf, wrap it up, throw it in the oven at 350 till it's cooked all the way through (40-50 minutes, I think). If you cook several this way, you can freeze them for later or cut them up and use it for chicken salad or cold sandwiches or something.

To steam veggies, all you need to do is chop them up, throw them in a pot with a little bit of water in the bottom, cover them and put it on med-low. Check occasionally to make sure the water doesn't completely evaporate and let them steam until they're nice and tender (you can stick a fork in them and they don't feel hard and crunchy). Takes maybe 10-15 minutes depending on the veggies. Broccoli cooks pretty quickly, cauliflower takes a bit longer.

Cook rice with veggie broth instead of water and it comes out tastier.

Also: my main staple is rice with black beans. Throw a little sour cream on top. It's very tasty and quick and good for you.
