Welcome to the verse!!! Trust me you are not alone either. Between "Being out in the world for a spell" ie Japan and going to college hadn't heard about till movie just came out and friend hyped it up to me. Yup we are fun loven group from all diff walks of life. Anyways enjoy the place and everything. Nuthen like losen damn war w/ Fox --- Still don't think we was on wrong side!!!!

Speaking of our growing numbers. Is there any idea of how many Browncoats there are on this site alone? I have a feeling that globally in all the other fan sites our numbers are vast indeed

I'd like to know too, how many fans have joined recently, because of the movie and because of SciFi airing the show on Fridays. Seems like quite a few.

Seems like there should be a way of counting heads, so to speak. I joined on last week (12/12/05) after lurking for awhile. I'm new to Firefly having never seen any of the programs until last July. I think this site ought to have a permanent "newbie" thread, a place where all new comers can introduce themselves easily & all the old timers can welcome them aboard. As it is you find newbies de-lurking in many various threads. I'm sure alot of them get missed & go away with an unshiny feeling.

I hope that someone who keeps track and has the ability notices your idea and does it. That would be great.
I think the future of this franchise relies on how many new folks want more of it, so it'd be nice to know for all of us who have been here awhile. It's encouraging and fun to meet new folks!
