I forgot to mention Jayne in the airlock at the end of "Ariel".

Yeah, that's a good one.
At the end of "The Message," during the funeral. The music--especially--and Tracy's speech replaying and Mal's close-up as that last chord finishes up the ep. I starting crying every time. Oh, and the crying scene in "HoG" with Inara. Gets me every time.

I forgot about Inara's crying scene in HoG. That scene blindsided me. Great scene for Morena, she pulled it off flawlessly.

EXACTLY! I think it's why Mal gives him another chance. If I didn't know he was in later episodes, I was sure he was going out the door...

Right, I've spent far too long writing this post. Anyhow here's my top ten in descending order:

can't believe no one's mentioned objects in space when river's off ship and says:

it chokes me up every time...

Yeah, that and the other part where she talks about not belonging and being dangerous. Then the cut to the crews reactions to her sadness gets me.
