Things the Initiative need to learn:

I've been re-watching Buffy from the beginning, and I'm currently in the middle of Season 4, and I'm once again freshly reminded of how much I hate the Initiative. Here's a couple ground rules that they need to learn.
1. Magic > Science
2. Military < Slayer
3. Pointy Stick > Cutting-Edge Technology
4. Not all Demons = Bad
5. Never, EVER kidnap a Big Bad.
5b. Especially not Spike or Angel.
Can you think of anything else?

6. While running around with the black outfits and sooper!sneaky guns MIGHT work at night...they just make you painfully obvious in broad daylight.

I'm also currently in the middle of season four. Funnily enough I've come to realise that while I too dislike the innitiative, this is however the season I tend to rewatch the most, as all in all it's more humourous and lighter than the other seasons. I still prefer season 3 for drama and pulling out the maximum from the Buffy mythos, but anyway....
Unfortunately there are sooo many holes as regards the innitiative that it becomes clearly pointless to point them out - you just sorta have to go with it, but for the sake of the this thread :) here goes.
Innititative :
Never let a Slayer into your domain.
Never examine a 'Hostile' without security back-up. remember those two scientists who try to put Spike on the guerney - heck they were puny!!!!
While I'm no military expert I'm pretty sure the idea of one of the soldiers girlfriends tagging along is pretty much non-military procedure too...
er... that's about it...
On a side not anybody ever notice on the episode Goodbye Iowa there's a scene where Buffy goes to examine the murder scene with the little boy, and Riley joins her - well there's this curious camera thing that happens over Rileys POV of Buffy, it basically looks like the lens is masked by a circular rim... It's just in two shots but very strange, I'd have thought the editors would have picked up on it, it makes the whole scene very odd.
