Hey,

I'm new here. I'm writing a fanfic and was wondering if anyone knew the Mandarin translation of Simon's quote about Jayne (in Jaynestown, I think). The "Man-ape-gone-wrong-thing" quote.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

And Cheers.

Okay. How about this?

I think this might be what you are looking for. Obviously I could be wrong. :) But it seems pretty similar to what you are requesting. And if it is, it's not spoken by Simon. It's spoken by Saffron in the episode "Trash". Here goes.

Phrase: "BUN tyen-shung duh ee-DWAY-RO."
Translation: "Stupid inbred stack of meat."

This phrase and translation came from the final section of "Finding Serenity", edited by Jane Espenson, entitled "Unofficial Glossery of "Firefly" Chinese."
Hopefully this is what you were looking for. When I get a chance after I get home from work, I'll check the Chinese glossery in the back of the Serenity RPG to see if what youwere looking for might be in there. :)

"Yeah, grenades cost extra."

Jing chai! Glad to hear it.

Here's another one I think you'll like:
Phrase "Ye Dwei Da Buen Chuo Roh"
Translation: "Big stupid pile of stinking meat."

Or when you just don't have time to waste:
Phrase: "Chwen"
Translation: "Dumbass" (descriptive, literally "retarded")

This is actually pretty fun. Anything else you might need assistance with? It's mei wen ti.

One side note though. Once again I would like to give credit to the source of these here words and translations. This time I used the appendix of Chinese words and phrases referenced from pages 219-223 of the Serenity RPG.

Also I'd like to say that I'm in no way an expert in the spelling or gramatical construction of the Chinese language. I simply lack the understanding of this vast and complex language. So should I happen to butcher up the spelling or general referance of certain words and phrases, and it be noticed by folks who know far better than I if there be mistakes within said words and phrases, do please forgive me. As a humble Browncoat who's just now learnin' our "new age" frontier speak, I'll do my best to offer what I can as accurately as possible. Just bear with me. Sheh sheh.
