You like one long NC17 fanfic or a bunch of sequels? Taking a poll before I post my virgin fanfic.

ItsaWash relaxes.
Just long enough to mull over some more racy plot lines for her next NC17 fanfic so MeanGoldfish can go read them in the privacy of his/her own room.

It doesn't really matter either way. IMHO. A one off story can be just as appealing as a bunch of sequels. (For writers and readers respectively.)
Although, from a writer's point of view, sequels can be a lot of fun. It allows you to expand your imagination. There is a lot more freedom to write stuff. It allows you to develop your writing style in fresh and dynamic ways too.
(I've been writing fan fic for over a year now, and had no previous experience with writing fiction. It really helped to develop my writing skills. I'm currently working on my second Firefly horror series now.)
I try to write stories as though they're like self contained movies. They are all separate, but can be linked at the same time.
It can be a rewarding process either way. It's a good learning process.
Looking forward to checking out your story!
- Cos.

I like your response, cos. Makes good sense. Got a link to your ff horror? Would like to read it.
Here's the link to my first fanfic, posted late last month. I'm linking you to the conclusion, but you can see Parts 1-4 if you go to Blue Sun Room, click on Show me more fanfics, then go to letter "T" for The Measure of a Jayne. Hey! If you read me, please feed me back, 'kay? I need it bad. Thanks.

Nice! I'll check that out ASAP. (I never realised that you'd already put them on line.) You'd like feedback? No probs!

Um.. Sure... SCHISM part 1:

It's a five part story. It started off as a one off halloween story last year. The remaining four parts can be accessed through the 'Blue Sun Options' menu on the main Blue Sun Room page. (Category: Horror.)
*Rushes off to read 'The Measure of a Jayne' fan fic.*
Keep flyin'!

Hiya CosmicFuge: I read your short but highly creepifying and intriguing Halloween fic. VERY nice stuff, your writing kinda reads like my own, without the extra kinky perv I can't seem to keep out of my syllables. Left you feedback on #1. Will read the other 4 parts later today, going to see Serenity again right now before it's gone from the big screen around here.
Go check out my honest analysis on each of your parts later on, 'kay? If the others are anywhere near the caliber of the first, it'll all be shiny! Ain't it just pitiful how very dear feedback is to we who scribble? If the non-feedbackers only knew...
Cos: If you ever wanna ship fic ideas or comments back and forth, write me at Four-foot-hair@hotmail.com. I'll look for you there.

I like one long story at once, personally. I find chapters, and the waiting between them, to be frustrating. Not sure what I think of an NC-17 Jayne/Kaylee encounter, but I'll brace myself and give it a shot.

Jayne/Kaylee is fun. Not sure about NC-17? Take it gently then --> "The Catch" http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=4471
Or, you know, fully NC-17 --> "Sometimes" http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=4477

A big yes on Jacqui's offerings. Her Jayne work is quite nice and of the kink in all the right places.
I appreciate the feedback, Jetflair. I did go for parts 1-5, even though I kinda like the long rambling ones too. Here's the link to me and mine, since Jacqui started the trend of fanfic pimpin'. Just look to the lower right side and you'll find The Measure of a Jayne, my first ever effort:

I just came across this question and thought I'd give you my answer. I, personally, like sequels or shorts, as long as I know the author is going to update consistently.
With busy schedules, I can sit down and read a chapter quicker than a longer story. If you are going to leave cliffhangers, please be a quick updater though.
And all this from a S/K fan.
Good luck with your story.
