i vote that none other then arnold schwarzenegger replace wash on the crew as the wise cracking pilot.

if not then he can play a new holy man of some sort with a mysterious past. jayne and him could even work out, like he and book did in the past. "one day your going to have to explain to me what a holy man need all them muscles for"

:)

any other ridiculous casting ideas?

Tom Cruise comes in as Mal's long-lost brother or half-brother...borrowing money and putting the moves on Kaylee, then Inara, then River, then Zoe...hell, maybe Simon? He pisses everyone off until they suffer a core breach, upon which he seals himself in the engine room, exposes himself to massive radiation, and then performs a mind-meld with Simon at the last minute.

All characters will be played by Christopher Walken.

I'm all for Walken playing most characters, but can't we have Steve Buscemi (or the guy who played Benny in The Mummy) as some sort of boot-licking, smarmy minion?

Now that Star Wars is done how about some out of the box casting suggestions.

I'd like to see Yoda cast in the role of the head of Inara Companion House pursuing her for leaving them. He could sport gold chains and drive a big Caddy spaceship and say something like "pay me my money, Bitch you will."

Yoda is typecast, I'd like to see him playing the heavy.

This is eggxakly the silliness!
I'm trying to think of a 'pump U up' 'girly-man' tagline for Arnie that would be around forever after. Help.

Static has brought the Jack Nicholson version of TC, and he will certainly find a new girlfriend in the cast, so we need a not too likeable, disposable F castmember fallguy. Since we're adding Republican politicians, is Condaliza busy? I'm having a hard time with this because I don't want to sacrifice any actor I really like on the altar of TC. Hmmmm.

James Marsters. I'm still voting for James Marsters. It would be so weird to have Spike there. Filling the preacher/Giles/Loren stabilizing role. He would need some kind of special power as they all had. How 'bout a character who knew people who garden on all the outer planets? They could go for strawberries, and get in trouble, cause he'd have to be kind of a naughty gardener.

For the pilot, I like River very much. Also, I can't get the pixels to match when I try to cut and paste an outside actor into that role. It works much better in my head to slide River there and create a new character with some new craziness to take her place. Nobody too big, I don't want to go all Hollywood here, cuz that distorts the picture for me. The guy from "Dead Like Me" who played the Brit Reaper. Now, this I like.

We could also add some occasionally appearing helpful characters like Mr Uni and Clem (as long as we're messin' with the power of Joss here).

Mr. T as the next Sheppard.

"I pity the foo what don't worship the good book!!"

I like the Christopher Walken idea! That's hilarious!! How about good ol' Chris as the voice of the new NAVCOM computer?

"Come...closer...my crew...I have something...unsettling..to tell you.."

I always liked it that the name of the evil complicit computer in Alien was "Mother".

And when the good doctor in 2010 told the story of why HAL9000 spaced 'em all in 2001, I cried, oooh.
