William Shatner as Mal's older, fatter, balder brother.
Conan O'Brien as Book's long lost brother who's also a Shepherd with even crazier hair.
Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the new hands of blue guys.
Gary Coleman as the new crime boss Mal works for.
Michael Jackson as the new villain, the evil headmaster of the Academy, giving Jesus juice to the students and having them sleep in his bed.

Can we please please please just cast David Hasselhoff as a new crewman
He could be a trainee mechanic with Kaylee, and when the chips are down he whips out a few choruses of "Looking For Freedom" for inspiration.
Combine the song with THAT leather jacket and you know you're on to a winner.
Maybe thats the angle Fox wanted to take Firefly in the first place.......

Actually...
We DO know that Joss likes to work with the same pool of actors. I would love to see Amy in "Serenity II" or "Serenity: The Series" (Fox wants exclusive TV rights to "Firefly"? Let them have it. OUR show is called "Serenity"!)
I bet if we managed to wrangle a new series (I'm not looking at a sequel right now...I want TV again.) that all of the old Whedon actors would JUMP at a chance to play a role...I'm thinking one-shot roles, like Carlos Jacott did with "Dobson" (Whedon 'hat trick').
David Borneaz: Another Operative, or Federal Marshall like Womack from "The Message"
Allyson Hannigan: A spirited town leader-type who appeals to Mal when their town is being harrassed by bad guys.
Sarah Michelle Gellar: A pro-independence 'can't stop the signal' fanatic-activist who constantly commits minor acts of terrorism against the Alliance...who Mal finds himself having to bring in because he realizes that NOONE, Purple or Brown should advocate the killing of innocents for a cause.

Anne Heche as the new pilot. Well, Zoe's single now, and...
Besides, it's standard Joss that you gotta have Sapphic overtones.

Amy as Simon and Rivers 2nd cousin, had a crush on Simon since they were 9 years old. Show up after River waves their parents that Simon's marrying Kaylee. Only problem Simon hasn't asked Kaylee he's just been thinking about it River read his mind and got confused about thought and action.

Okay, it isn't really sequel casting, but I need you guys to cast an actress to play Wash's older sister. (Heck, it could work for a sequel too.) My posted fic, *Blue Sun Rising*, includes her and she needs a gorram face. She's a few years older than Wash, and doesn't look so much like him that you would know they were siblings right away if you met them separately and years apart (this is important to the story). They would, however, have similar speech patterns and senses of humor. She cultured but practical, strong and highly educated. I always got the impression Wash had a good education ("Can I use companion as a verb?") and was probably raised with strong female role models.
