Monday to Monday Box Office Surprise

Too soon to celebrate, but I did notice something damned encouraging.
Last Monday the Box office was 732,000. This Monday it was 700,480. That is not the expected trend.
This Monday should have been much, much lower.
I wonder if this is a hiccup or whether something unexpected is beginning to occur.

I wish that were the case, but no...
I think it was a national holiday in the States. Anyway - afaik, Serenity was one of the few films who's Monday-Monday take actually fell.
Today will tell us more.

Not that many, though. Columbus Day may be a national holiday, but in many (most?) states it's just one of those meaningless days--people don't get off of work or out of school. So I don't know how much that influenced things.

It influenced things a lot by looking at things.

Monday, Oct 10th
Movies earning over $1 million - 4
Serenity's $732k on October 3rd was enough to put it at #2 for the day.
That amount would be good for #8 on Columbus day.
