well, buffy premiered on my 16th birthday and it's ending a matter of days after i graduate from college. i responded to the show both as a teenage girl and as a writer (or a "potential" one anyway). i know no other writer's style as well as joss whedon's and it's become almost homey, which is possibly pathetic, but it's the best on a rainy day like today. every good jossy fix these days just reminds me how much i wanna do this and makes me work harder. i would love to actually get somewhere with my writing someday and then be able to go to joss and say, "see, you helped do that."

i couldn't have asked for a better way to say goodbye to these characters that i grew up with: "what happens now?"

I don't think it's pathetic at all that Joss Whedon's writing is 'homey' to you. It's always great to find a show that you like so much that it can take your mind away from everyday life for a while. In your case, it's probably even better since you are a writer yourself and you can find a correlation between Joss's writing and what you want to do with your life as a career. I am the same way with music. A song from a band I am really familiar with and that I really love can always help fix a bad day or a rainy day. I myself have also thought that it would be great to write a song and actually have the chance to play it for one of my favorite bands and tell them that they are a big part of the reason for me being into music in the first place. Anyway, I just liked your post and wanted to reply. Have a great graduation.
