Very weird. I've got better things to do than sit through such a tangled mess of a story. Maybe that's why I've seen none of these films, and have even heard of maybe one of them: I'm very picky about what I'll spend time watching, and generally have to be convinced ahead of time before I'll give something a chance. People rave about some film or TV show, and when I hear what it's about I rate it 'meh.' I don't bother to turn the box on for 'meh.'

The thing is, almost all of it is never explained. Frank never really is, the powers aren't, what the 'Philosophy Of Time Travel' actually says is not made clear or even really mentioned. But you can see the chain of events, how each thing that happens and each thing Donnie does leads to the final step. It's only a mess when you try and add in the extra detail, though once it is added you go "huh... okay" and then, y'know, get on with your life.
It's interesting, like those really deep articles in the magazine 'New Scientist', but you don't really get what it all means and don't feel compelled to try harder.

TWG - to be fair to the Post Office, they actually close at 12.30 - which is soooooo much better. And yes, congrats on the correct use of "pants"!
(OK, "funny" (sad?) story - I shall confess to watching a (pretty poor) pirate of The Phantom Menace before the film came out. Anyhow, you know the bit near the end when ickle Anakin is in the fighter? Well I could have sworn he said "This is pants!" Turns out it was "intense"...Anyway, the moral is, don't watch pirate movies! Or The Phantom Menace (although I actually don't mind it personally)).
If that is my ticket, Sean Harry owes me £1.21!! Or access to the Meet & Greet. I'd settle for that!!

I've only ever watched two pirate movies.
First, ET, waaay back in the early days of video.
Second, I have an unwatched pirate vid of The Phantom Menace somewhere; the first minute or two put me off as the badly-filmed-in-a-cinema quality of it was just awful.
Oh, and third: Pirates Of The Caribbean *ba-doom chish*

The term "pants" in the English vernacular is akin to "sucks" in the American.
A more explosive and stronger exortation is "Knickers" which has some very satisfying hard consonants.
Usage: Pants: "oh no, I don't want to watch Hollyoaks, its pants"
Knickers: (hits thumb with hammer) "S&*t, f*&k, knickers!"
The more we understand each others' idioms and swearwords, the more hormonious will be our relations.
