work? tarnation girl, this is so much more FUN!

I feel so fortunate--I work with a gal from South Carolina. She's lived in Minnesota long enough to take the edge off her drawl, but she says "y'all" all the time. My favorite phrase of hers of late happened when we were having thermostat issues with the air conditioning.

"Ah'm burnin' up--are y'all hot?"

Space monkeys. Seriously.

Last Friday we were at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and all over the place they had these stuffed monkey figures dressed in astronaut suits you could buy. Freaked me right out!

6) Every time I want to swear at work I have to remember to do it in English because if I swear in Chinese, everyone around me will know what I'm saying.

I was losing an arguement with my car in the gas station parking lot the other day and let out a nice long string of impolite chinese at it, only to look over afterward and see the shocked older Chinese couple getting into their car. They were giving me strange looks and shaking heads. I think I was supposed to feel bad there, but, ummm, yah...

My brother and some of his friends are playing a bloody, gutsy, slaughterish video game in the other room and I can hear them yelling at the TV. Every once in a while I hear them holler a few phrases that bring me right back to bushwhacked. “No mercy! Mercy! Cattle for the slaughter! Ha, ha, ha!”

There was a big, bad, nasty semi on the freeway on my way to visit the folks on Saturday morning. Barreling down the road with blue smoke belching out of both smokestacks. My first thought? REAVERS!!!

One of my Dad's favorite movies, "The Cheyenne Social Club." Substitute Jimmy Stewart's character with Mal and bring in the rest of the crew and it would be a different treatment of "Heart of Gold."

Yesterday we had strawberries and sherbert for dessert, and I almost blurted out, "Ooh, Grandpa!" No one would have understood me. I was with the straightlaced conservative side of the family.

I was flippin channels and ran across E! News Live. They were showing a clip of that Anna show and talking about this weird little guy named "Bobby Trendy". Anyhow the anchor chick said that she thought he was "hi-larious".
