That should answer most of your questions. There is also the (incomplete) summary/guide I have made to all of the threads. It lists all the threads, but I only have summaries of the first seven.
I suggest that you read at least the Guide and this thread, and you should be caught up enough.

Thanks for the welcome - I have read the guide which sure made a lot of things more understandable (though not by much), and I think I'm ready to embark on this twisted journey

Now it is falling apart. Your memory may not return so I'll try and answer any questions you have that will lead you to save the 'verse."
"Why are you wearing that outfit?"
Mystery Catwoman-Man: "The reason for my appearance is unimportant at this time"
"Ok. Why am I in this outfit?"
*Mystery Catwoman-Man sighs*
Mystery Catwoman-Man: "We needed clothes that would survive the jump through time. Unfortunately, the only ones available were in the women's section in a fancy-dress shop"
"You mean I jumped through time too?"
Mystery Catwoman-Man: "Indeed. And as a futurer, you are the only one able to stop the universe from collapsing on itself. You must do all I command you to. Now you must go on the ship that is Destiny's Shadow, the one that has appeared in this reality following the collision of timelines and dimensions"
"I gotta say. You're not making a whole lot of sense"
*Mystery Catwoman-Man spots Serenity heading back towards Needy*

Oh well, good luck to you, Soul, and to everyone going on this mission!
As the fighters prepare to leave on the rescue mission, Soul takes a walk around the outside of his ship. Staring up at the name Destiny on the bow, his eyebrows crinkle in confusion.
"Destiny...something's not right...ah!"
He turns and runs to the stream, scooping up a bucket of water and running back to the Firefly. With a good swing he splashes the water up onto the side of the ship, washing off a good portion of dirt, revealing the rest of the Firefly's name, Destiny's Shadow.
"That's better. I knew I wasn't messing with alternate realities. That can be dangerous."
Turning to the field, he shouts out.
"All aboard! Let's get this rescue mission going!"
