Have a safe (hopefully somewhat fun) journey there and back, Serenity. Sorry we're outa gas or we would fly you down there. Too busy partying...
I gotta run too to get started on my curry. About the ingredients, one word: California. We're spoiled here in terms of fruits and veggies and the high population of people from around the world make it possible to find stores that carry specialty items. Good for you for making it happen with less, though! That online recipe club is neat, I also buy used cheap cookbooks off amazon and then improvise.
Oo oo oo! I will pay you back for the hat with some honest to goodness thai supplies!!! Think about what you want (dried red chilies? coriander seeds? thamarind paste?) and I'll mail it to you in thanks for the hat! Awesome!

yeah, I've been won over easily by ketchup I'm afraid. But I am definitely amused by the pop/soda debate in the US (varies by state). In Canada I heard it called "soda pop" so I'm happy with either.
Have you heard the Arrogant Worms songs
"Canada is really big"
"Pirate of the River Seskatchewan" (sp? I'm so bad!)
Those are the only songs I've heard of theirs and they're very funny.
Cheers, Canadian sister of Destiny

Amy;
I'm not a big ketchup fan, more of a hot sauce guy...well..ok...addict. I put it on EVERY thing.
The Arrogant Worms are hilarious!! I like Moxy Fruvous and Corky and the Juice Pigs too. Moxy Fruvous did a Green Eggs and Ham song...VERY funny.
Ewww...I just witnessed Sin City. I'd say I watched it, but that would mean I did it by choice...it was like a car wreck, I couldn't look away. I don't understand it,I like action films, I like Bruce Willis, I definitly like Jessica Alba (sorry but she's a handsome woman) so why was this movie so bad?? How could it fail?? Damn space monkeys are writing scripts again...

Ugh, I had to dig this thread out from the bottom of the laundry pile! Shame shame shame!
But at least we're still partying! Whoop!
Amy-when I lived on Guam, every soda was a "coke" (as in, "What kind of coke would you like?" "A sprite") or a "cola", and then it became "soda pop" when I moved to CA. Now that I love on the east coast, everything's just "soda". But I have many a friend from the midwest that still call it "pop". Funny, isn't it?
And I will ponder what lovely dry goods I would like to have sent. Oh, the choices!
TRM-Get down with your bad self!
