Hmm, haggis. You know, it’s really not as bad as it sounds. Haggis and mashed turnips. Fish and Chips. Cottage pie. These are some of the reasons why the UK is my favorite vacation place. British cuisine is really underrated.
Maybe second favorite, I think Italy actually nudges you out of the top, but you're a close second.

I was being too general over the French, but you got my point I think. Although point one is that there wasn't really a US at the time
As for British food I aggree wholeheartedly, its the bloody French again shouting their mouths of when they can't get their own way
