I think it has to do with what you are looking for emotionally in the series.

I have no problem with taking a season to do a really strong emotional arc. I just don't think they did it very well with S6.

I guess that is why it's called art. It's something personal that touch you. And season 6 really worked for me. It was Buffy grown up.

Not yet, but where I live (a college town) used sets pop up regularly at the record store, it's just a matter of time (I got a call that they got S4 in, I said NOT 4, 5!!!)

Laying in wait Chrisisall

I just noticed you said you were watching some S3 the other day - does that mean you were watching a rerun on TV or did you actually keep that set instead of selling it off to further your addiction? ;)

There is a really cool rumor going around. It states that in 2007, all the seasons of Buffy are going to be re-released on dvd, with 5.1 dolby digital, and re-mastered picture. If it is true I will be both happy, and sad. I don't wanna buy all the frikkin sets again.

God I hope it's true. I haven't gotten around to buying the DVD sets yet, and now I'll probably put it off even further.

Please note that it's just a rumor. I wouldn't put too much stock in it until we see an actual confirmed street date. The guys at my local comicbook shop(where I heard about it)aren't always 100% accurate on matters of future dvd releases, but their track record isn't too shabby.

Grounded, season 3 grew these hideous roots that entwined themselves all through the bookcase where I keep my dvd's, and I can't get the box out of there!!! I can only take out the disks to watch them, so I guess that season is gonna stay in my permanent collection, I have no choice!!!!
Seriously, S3 is a work of art, it's the one I have to keep. All others will be in my 'expensive extended rental' category.;) The whole Faith/Mayor thing is such a hoot and a half!

Can't stop the BS3 signal Chrisisall

My line-up would be;

2,3,1,5,7,4,6

I'm in the minority here but I really liked 5, and wasn't a big fan of 4. It may have to do with the big bad of season 4, I just couldn't get into the initiative, or Adam, or the professor, although Hush kicked butt.

Kaylee: Wash, tell me I'm pretty
Wash: Were I unwed I would take you in a manly fashion
Kaylee: 'Cause I'm pretty?
Wash: 'Cause you're pretty

Am I the only one severly bothered by the crappy quality of the picture on the dvd's for seasons 1 and 2? I know it was because it was shot in 16mm back then, but Ugggh, what muddyness!!

I prefer the way S1 and S2 look - after that the colours get all uber-bright and the sets start to look more and more set-like. Sharpness isn't everything.

I am also one of the few who REALLY liked S6. I loved seasons 2,3,4, and 6 so much it is hard for me to rank them. I will say that when I just randomly pick out a buffy season to watch it is usually either 4 or 6. But I'm going to stick with my usual rankings: S3,S2,S6,S4,S5,S7,S1
