A question about season 5

Last I heard Whedon planned every season of Buffy as if it could be the last. Though I really don't see how that could work with Season 4 or Season 6. Perhaps that's why I don't like them. The ending wasn't a big ending it was just a wimper. Season 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 ended on a note of "wow that was huge".

I think Joss has said the 4 is an exception. But I agree with you about 6. It doesn't have a "series finale" feel to me either.

Well, the difference with six was that they had just signed a definite TWO year deal with UPN, so they KNEW they were coming back for season 7. I don't think Joss ever had that kind of absolute assurance when they were on the WB.
