If you _listen_ to many tv shows or movies, you start to like some actors just for their voices. Ron Perlman (Beauty and the Beast) Gareth Thomas (Blakes 7) most any Trek actor... Welsh accents are the best! Peter Wingfield (HL Methos) is Welsh, I think and if the last new Dr Who isn't, then he should be. :-) note: looked Christopher Ecclestone up in imdb - and he's from Lancashire - not Wales but still, a very nice accent...

Crossing Jordan is good too, although it's mostly listening from the couch with a book in my hand.

I too used to audio tape Star Trek off the television! My favorite episodes to listen to were The Apple (Yeeeeah, BROTHER!), and This Side of Paradise (..."right next to the DOG-FACED BOY!!"). Heh. Fun, innocent times.

As far as movies? The original Star Wars in 1977 - twenty-seven times in the theatre. Friends kept taking me because they didn't believe I could recite the whole movie. Of course, they always ended up shushing me twenty minutes into the picture because, hey, annoying! But I still got to see it many, many times so I didn't care.

The Little Mermaid, at least 40 or 50 times on video. Hey! I got kids! ;)

If I want some eye candy I throw in American Outlaws. Hot men, and I love westerns...just fluff but I love it.

Have seen Emma about 15 or 16 times, and Run Lola Run about that many too...

Television: Big word to whomever talked about Once More, With Feeling. It's insane the number of times I've watched that. Also, both seasons of Deadwood- first one on dvd and second on tape because it isn't out yet- a ridiculous amount of time, but I just love it so. It's absolutely brilliant.

Totally agree, Blazing Saddles is hysterical, and Fifth Element is great, it's weird, but it gets better with each viewing...

I have seen these movies a ridiculous amounts of times (At least twenty each):

Fright Night, Big Trouble in Little China, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Salem's Lot, Candyman, Oscar, Arsenic and Old Lace, Beauty and the Beast, Ghostbusters, Evolution, The Green Mile, Stand By Me, Bringing Up Baby, Fight Club, Seven, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Harvey, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life (My very first DVD!), Desperado, Halloween, The Fog, The Patriot, Battle Royale, Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Three Caballeros, High Fidelity, Pump Up The Volume, Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan (Gotta have some Wrath!), And many, many, many others.

As far as TV goes: Scrubs, Friends, Frasier (oh YEAH!!), Firefly, Buffy, Angel, etc, etc, etc.

We have to start a 'I audio-taped Trek' support group! I never thought so many did that,too!
Arena, City on the Edge of Forever, Amok Time, This Side of Paradise, and Shore Leave were my most listened to eps, although at one time I think I had almost the whole 79 eps on tape!
I had to shush everyone in the house weekdays at 6pm to 7pm for months, my parents thought i was crazy!!

I have an issue w/Seven. As soon as he saw her head, he shoulda fired! No thinkin', nothin' matters, just animal reaction. He paused too long, and that one little thing ruined the movie (for me).
Desperado's up there for me, too. Sometimes I watch it just to hear the soundtrack.

Hey Terryo,

I'm with you on Blakes 7 - the final episode of that is my favorite hour of filmed entertainment. I've probably seen it 50 times, and can recite the whole show by memory. I finally got sick of waiting for a region 1 release of B7 on DVD, so I got a regio free player and have been watching season 1 again - damn, this show holds up well!

Following that, I would have to go with "Once More With Feeling". That episode of Buffy inspired me to learn guitar, and now I can play and sing all the songs from it!

So why can't we get people to watch this show? You have to think that anyone who liked Mal and crew would enjoy the dysfunctional future of Blakes 7.

Makes us special, doesn't it? :-)

I love the opening scene where Avon is talking about his new figurehead and the look on Vila's face.

I don't know why I can't get more people to watch it - I keep telling people about all the influence it has on Joss' work, (Spike's chip, Angel's finale, all of Firefly) but it is an uphill battle. Ah well, I guess we are the special ones!

I have deliberately avoided watching B7 for the last 3-4 years, since I have been waiting to watch it in order when I got the DVDs. I kept expecting it to be less than I remembered, but the show really holds up well! (Amazing what good writing and acting will do for a show - are you listening, Hollywood? No, I thought not....)
