I have no core beliefs other than the belief that I have no core beliefs (and now for my party piece my head will explode in existential angst) …

Actually, I believe in:

The beauty of TV (even crap TV)

The glory of film (even subtitled foreign madness)

The genius of the written word – specifically, Mr Michael Chabon, Mr John Irving, Miss Jane Austen and Mr T Hardy (and many more)

I don’t give a good gorram about much else, although politics is always like to rile me.

As far as gender, sex, the right to life etc. goes, I reckon each man has enough to contend with keeping his own conscience off his back without other people butting in and trying to dictate the terms of his existence, guess what I’ve trying to say is “live and let live”.

I have somehow ended up in a bad place. A bad place that even my blogs don't begin to tell. The unfortunate fact is, I really don't know where I nor my core beliefs stand right now.

Sigma- I checked yr blogs. How's it goin'? Just call me "Nosy as hell".

I forgot to list a core belief:
Dark Angel is the second coolest show ever made.
BTW, this is not opinion, it is fact. I have searched and I can find no documentation to prove otherwise.

I can't agree more SoupCatcher. I've always thought that Americans could all do well with a bit more inter-cultural interaction. Does a body good.

Sometimes pain is good for you. A terrific and brilliant curmudgeon of a trama surgeon that I once worked with revealed that to me.

It's all relative.

Dictionaries are a good thing.

'An it harm none, do as thou will. Not talking Crowley here. This is a pretty simple golden rule that allows the greatest amount of personal freedom with the requirement of the greatest amount of personal responsibility and accountability.

Dragging your attention away from the mundanity of everday chores and distractions to give attention, love and compassion to those like your partner, your children, your pets and plants... is the most valuable and enriching act that you can do for them and yourself.

Soy is our friend.

Liberals get to love our country too.

Life, the Universe, and Everything. Wow.

Protect the innocents.

I don't like fanaticism. (Not talking about simple fandom here.)

Blind faith blinds.

Hate is a strong word, better think first before we ever use it.

Fostering fear is a great wrong.

Sometimes you just need to go fishing.

Ain't nothing different about the dark except that there's just fewer photons. Don't be afraid.

Howling is good for the soul.

Sometimes you gotta just go crazy.

Support your local starving artist, or student. A world without beauty, soul, or intellegence is pretty sad off.

I like playing in the dirt.

Always be open to learning new things. Don't be afraid to be wrong. The scientific method works.

Oh yeah, and: I like Canadians.

Sorry to be so secretive, but I don't know if anyone from my home U is here and don't want to give any forewarning. I have plans that are in the works. I'll post a blog after what is going on is done. Shouldn't be too long

Do I get to write this and not have people criticize b/c I didn't provide links?

I used to think people were simply uninformed, now I know it's mostly on purpose. And a related item, facts seldom change closed minds.

If you are trying to do business and the other party is schmoozing you, be wary. If it was a good deal for you, they wouldn't be schmoozing.

Forgiving a wrong frees the soul, but it makes bad policy, as do revenge, hate and fear.

This world would be an Eden if more people ran on self-interest instead of greed.

Always read original documents. You can't count on second-hand reports (especially the media) to portray things truthfully.

What else -

Always call twice and ask the same question. People who answer phones may not come up with a complete off-the-cuff answer. Two different answers when added together are more likely correct.

The time to do what needs to be done is NOW, not at a more convenient time. A related item: when faced with too much to do and not enough time, living things come first as they can have a limited shelf-life.

Always keep promises.

Oh yeah, and the older I get the more I realize "Youth is wasted on the young !"

Where's the link providing the documentation proving that you didn't provide links?
As far as I'm concerned, then, you have.
