Hopefully such a disc is being developed!

Sorry, but Joss tried to get a Buffy soundtrack vol. 2 out a long time ago, but he couldn't. That's why it's one of my many hobbies to collect MP3s of songs featured on BTVS and making my own compliation disks. So far I'm up to 123 songs....

Most of those songs I found at http://impermanence.hispeed.com/lw/index2.html

http://www.buffymusic.net/ is also an invaluable resource for a Buffy music fanatic.

Also, as a point of interest, in thank you's section of the Once More With Feeling Soundtrack, Angie Hart is listed. She is married to a swell fellow by the name of Jessie Tobias who played guitar for Alanis Morrisette (a.k.a. God) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was also Musical Director/guitarist for Michelle Branch (another Buffy guest!) and Vanessa Carlton. Both Tobias and Hart run the band Splendid together and were, along with Christophe Beck, instrumental (ha!) in putting together the Buffy Musical. All of which Whedon points out in his introduction to the CD.

I managed to locate a single copy of this song, and it was hell trying to find it. It's complete, full length, and in mp3 format.

If anyone wants a copy, e-mail me at geckox@rogers.com and we'll meet online somewhere so I can send it. The more people that get a copy, the better... that way it can be spread around. It's a nice tune.

Is this a copy ripped from The Angie Hart Project, or is it just taken from the episode itself? If it's the former, well.... *droool*

Upon visiting the band's official site, www.splendidtheband.com, I learned the webmaster plans to post a better version of the song in the future. Currently their mp3s of "Blue" are recorded off of the broadcast like the mp3s linked above.

I also found this bit of info:

Angie will be appearing in a "bit part" on the television series Firefly, which I have (quite honestly) never heard of. The episode is still being filmed, and we have no air date as yet. We'll be getting back to you with that piece of information as details are revealed. For the moment, we know that Angie will be portraying "a church whore who sings amazing grace over a grave site acapella." In addition, she has a single line. And, for the record, she's glad not to have more than that, as she is nervous enough as it is.

Sounds like one of the three eps we ain't seen yet.

Yep, that would be "Heart of Gold".

Orius,
Just curious if you were planning on posting this song somewhere soon.

Has anyone downloaded a copy of 'Blue' from Orius yet? If so, perhaps you can post the mp3 somewhere easily accessible...

Thanks for your help!

That very well could be the composite version I did...I copied the earlier and closing versions of "Blue" from an encode of the ep and blended them together as a combined MP3, fading the two parts together in the middle. It actually does sound more or less like a more complete version of the song and I was pleased with the result. As far as I know, it hasn't been officially released in any format. I don't mind sharing for those looking for it.

This was acctually a score soundtrack that you are refering to, not a pop soundtrack. It was fully produced and ready to be published, but 20th Century Fox wouldn't give it the go-ahead, believing that it wouldn't sell very well. The same thing happened ayear or two later to an Angel pop soundtrack.

Apparently, "Blue" either is already out, or will soon be released on a CD entitled The Angie Hart Project. Which makes me wonder if there are more parts to the song than we have already heard. Cause that would be really shiny,

Neat, I hope that's the case. I know according to her site when they recorded it, that was the name they put it under, but I hadn't seen anything about exact plans for the song and/or CD.

It was about just about everyone. Trying to single it out to either of them, or even both is ridiculous. It kind of fit everyone's situation, excepting maybe Dawn. The whole Tera-Willow situation fits, and so does the Anya-Xander thing.
