I thought it was really good. It's got flaws, sure. The dialogue between Padme and Anakin was lame through most of the movie, but that wasn't really a surprise since that was my main complaint about Ep II. The last 45 minutes, however, make up for everything else. The confrontation between Anakin and Obi-Wan was possibly the best Star Wars moment ever. It wasn't perfect, but it was worth seeing. It also helps put the original trilogy in a whole new perspective. Darth Vader's actions, as well as Obi-Wan's, make a lot more sense now.

I don't agree with the "better acting" call. Obi wan was the best acted throughout the prequels and continued to be good. Most of the rest could have been replaced with those cardboard cut outs you can buy at the overpriced media shops. Most dialog can (as I said in someones' blog) be reduced to ".....and now for our next FX shot."

Never live in a desert. apparently you age 45 yrs in 20.

I bought "Finding Serenity" at the book shop after the movie. There is a paragraph on page 11 talking about the depth of characters[in Firefly], the history of them that you can see, even if they just do a walk on line. Versus what they go on to call "plot-pushers". Ep III is full of "plot-pushers". all flat, no history in their eyes. irrelevant.

If you wish to walk out of a theatre feeling violated, then I recommend ep III.
Star Wars turned into a horribly malformed disgusting butterfly, "but I loved that damn catapiller."

To everyone who hasn't seen this film yet: ignore what anybody else says, and see it yourself. Some people like it, other people (with blacker hearts and lower fun thresholds, apparently) don't. If you see it and don't like it, you're out eight bucks...if you listen to somebody else and you miss it, you're out the experience. You can always get eight bucks from SOMEwhere.

By the way, to those of you who say this film was aimed at "stupid people," howzabout you and me meet out back of the theater in, say, twenty minutes? I've got two degrees in video production technology I'd like to hit you over the head with. I liked it, and I don't give a good gorram who says otherwise.

I will agree that the special effects were awsome, the opening sequence was just breath-taking. Hayden Christiansen spent a little bit of time without a shirt on. That wasn't bad. Jar Jar binks was only on the screen twise, and he never opened his mouth. That was REALLY nice.

Beyond that, the movie was crap. Seeing it was two hours and nine bucks of my life that I'll never have back.

Obvious, the answer is no. It's been 100,000 years for goodness sake. They really should have gotten over it by now or at least have entered some sort of counselling. This sort of bitterness never ends well.

Speaking as someone who has seen this movie, I gotta say I was disappointed. The original three were smart and funny movies with excellent special effects for their day and good plots. Now more than 30 years on from the original and the only elements they can give is good special effects, and some one saying 'Yes Master' every 10 minutes. Granted Ewan was good, but he couldn't be great with the dialog they gave him. I just wish George Lucas knew when to hand the writing over to someone else, but no, he had to do it all himself, you would think he would have learned from the first two prequels.

All I can say is I hope they don't do a television series, or if they do, leave George well out of it.

That is definitely true. If Lucas has put a tenth of the effort he put into Sith into Eps 1 and 2 they'd have been a hundred times better.

Yes, there are problems. Some can be explained, some take some quick talking to convince anyone, some might never work.

Some moments were really shocking, I thought. The younglings... I just gaped at that. And you could really feel for Obi-Wan. And the look on Anakin's face, that last time we see it... you shouldn't feel anything for him, but I do.

But, overall, better than Eps 1 and 2. But better than the original trilogy? Better than Empire, even? I don't think so.

But to the prequel trilogy, a worthy end it is.

I fall in the "better than I and II but that doesn't say much" school of thought. The dialog was disasterous. I really felt like the whole movie served only to drag us from one CGI/Action scene to the next like it was simply a big ILM commercial.
I don't quite see how any fan could really get away from seeing it but to me it was a chore to be endured rather than a pleasure. I went back the next day and rewatched Ep V. It really amazes me that the same person who created the witty dialog between Han, Leia, and Luke in those first scenes on Hoth and in the Asteroid field could have brought us the completely worthless dialog of these prequels. I for one am glad I've seen it, only to have it out of the way. In my youth I might have been satisfied with the eye-candy (not certain on that count) but these days I feel the need for dialog and characters I can get into. I'm glad its over and hope the series is forever laid to rest.
