I've only just now discovered that Disney is doing a live-action film of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe", and that they've green-lit the next two books in the series for development.

These were books that I adored as a youth and cannot wait to see them brought to life!!!

I just finished watching the teaser trailer and it gave me chills! Imagine. . .the heroes we knew before anyone had even THOUGHT of Harry Potter. . .Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. . .on the BIG SCREEN!!!

I have to say, I'm getting a bit more excited about the L,W and W film though I wasn't at first.

Now if someone would just do a serious adaptation of John Christopher's Tripods trilogy (The White Mountains, The City of Gold and Lead and The Pool of Fire) then I'll be super stoked!

I saw the first commercial for this movie this past weekend. I was in awe of my TV for a good 5 minutes before I came back to my senses. I barely remember anything about it; all I can remember is that I loved it. Now I can't wait to actually see a Disney film... what's the world coming to?

I am so freaking psyked to see this movie! I loved the Chronicles of Narnia as a kid, and I still have the books. I think I need to dive back into them again...

I am excited for this movie and am positive they will be better than the original movies (I believe TV but i remember you could rent them at my library). They were alright, but I really hope that they used a bit of their budget for special effects, especially for the latter films. Seeing (I believe and am often wrong) Eustace turned into a dragon and watching him scratch the whole thing off yet still being a dragon. Flying lion, talking animals. Very stoked.

On a side note. C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite authors, could be because he's a christian author and that's all my parents would let me read back then. So i read those books till they feel apart. Had to buy a new set a few years ago. But, Man, try reading all those books you missed as a kid and the ones you want to read now in a short time.

I saw the trailer too and it does look very good.
I love CS Lewis, but I think the stories are a little light-weight and moralistic compared to Harry Potter...
but still the trailer looks really beautiful.
I'll definitely be attending...
but I guess it isn't coming out until Christmas

I lived and breathed the Chronicles of Narnia as a kid. My older sister had me reading them as soon as I could read. I'm not in the least bit ashamed to admit that my sisters and I spent long hours pretending we were in Narnia, having all kinds of wild adventures. I'm really excited about the movies.

On a side note, why did they change the order of the books? It should be:

1)The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
2)Prince Caspian
3)The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
4)The Silver Chair
5)The Horse and His Boy
6)The Magician's Nephew
7)The Final Battle

But everytime I go to the bookstore to buy a new set, they're all in chronological order, i.e., 6,1,5,2,3,4,7. Did they wait for C.S. Lewis to pass away so they could mess around with his work? Why can't they just leave them in the order he wanted them to be in?

When I was a kid, my older sister had the whole set, so I spent a summer just reading them over and over again. I had no idea they were out of the order C.S. Lewis wanted them to be in. I suppose in the box set they put them in "chronological" order.

Man, I've got to go buy them!

I've been anticipating the movie (sometimes with dread, but mostly with excitement) especially since I learned that James McAvoy is Mr. Tumnus. Children of Dune had some faults, but he was INCREDIBLE as Leto. I mean, WOW.
