Like Mr. Smith the superintelligent orangutang couldn't handle Mr. Terrific...

Look that one up!!! I actually watched this show...

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

Manwithpez wins. I never saw Mr. Smith, although in lookin' it up, I sorta remember seein' ads and deciding not to watch it.
But- I did actually see Mr. Teriffic on tv! How a 4 year old can memorize a theme song is beyond me (yes, I can still actually hum it!).

Guess I'm older than I look Chrisisall

So...it's interesting to see where this thread has carried us. My original intention was to actually play off the "things I've learned from Firefly" idea. (If ya haven't seen the top 21 things I learned from firefly shirt it's at my shop)

What I was reaching out for in this thread was how has Firefly effected the way you act as a person? I mean amongst ourselves we can make our inside jokes. But I've seen changes in my own personal attitude. A greater faith in people, a stronger desire to not give up even though life throws every possible curve at you. I feel like my family is like my crew, and I'll take down anybody who says or does anything to harm them.

I say Firefly Fans are better people because of the life ideals we have gained from this show. So as I now hijack my own thread.

How has being a Firefly Fan made you a better person?

not to mention I now got this groovy group of friends all over the world who I interact with every day, just because of a TV show. (be it the greatest TV show I've ever seen & the greatest fanbase I've ever been a part of.

Oh yeah, almost forgot...Automan so rocks!
as for obscure tv references - Misfits of Science, Riptide, The Master, Bring em Back Alive.

Stillshiny, The Master ROCKED! Van Cleef and Van Patten, if memory serves. Demi Moore guest starred in a few. I don't know 'bout nowadays, but in my memory it was surely a fun show.

Firefly made me realize that there are still artists who care about entertainment out there, and that I'm not a 'Don't make 'em like they used to' dude( no, they make 'em better!).
I don't know how it changed (or is changing) me as a person, I only discovered Firefly in late Feb. of this year (I must reek of newbie to most of the Browncoats), but I'll tell ya, bein' on this site has made me a better speller and a faster typist!!!

Well, now that I'm thinking on it, discovering that there are people who are passionate about such a quality show, friendly and articulate ( and gorram hi-larious on occasion), not to mention loaded with manners and such, has been very encouraging to my spirit, as world events and general negativity have pecked at me some over the past few years. I guess now that I think about it, I'm actually a measurably happier person due to Firefly.

Thanks sincerely, Joss.

Here's your thread back Chrisisall

Bring 'em back Alive...Huh? Bruce Boxleitner? I think I remember seeing it once...It was no Tales of the Gold Monkey, though...And neither of them was Voyagers, but, what are you gonna do?

(Yeah, weren't you trying to steer this thread away from obscure TV references?)

I guess this is an integrated thread, We can do the old show thing, AND tell how Firefly has affected us as people.
So, Manwithpez, Stillshiny wants to know...

Never missed a Voyagers [-geek-] Chrisisall

Hey, I'm here ain't I? If Firefly fans weren't better people, I wouldn't bother. Here, I can get engaging (secondhand) conversation, people who are actually interested in what I have to say, people who (kinda) want to read what I have to write, and anything else in a wide range of topics.

I will even go a little further and state that FFF.net-ers are better even than some other Browncoats. Over on the official board today, the spoilers are flying fast and thick. So, if you don't want to be spoiled, do NOT go over there, because the rest of the people there are putting up very little protest to it, and its infuriating.

Actually, I take it back, I don't want to make enemies at the official site, because I've met some nice people over there too. They just don't seem to be as...well, engaged, I guess is the way i would put it.
