I've been known to bust out the Firefly lines often, usually to the more annoying kids on the bus I ride to school. Not too long ago, when they were running around, I took it upon myself to yell..."One of you is gonna fall and die, and I'm not cleaning it up!" That got 'em to sit down.
When I tried to calm down a little girl today, she said that she was angry because a boy had tried to hit her. First thing out of my mouth was "Someone tries to hit you, you hit 'em right back!" Thinking back on it, I may not have given her the best wisdom of the Fireflyverse, considering she's around the age of seven...hope she didn't hear me.
I'm just the greatest person they could ever look up to...

Well, and they're armed and probably angry...
Since the trailer came out EVERYTHING reminds me of Firefly!

"Big damn junkies, Sir!"
"Ain't we just."

I'd venture to say I'm probably not the only one to include 'ain't' in his/her daily vocabulary...started out to be funny, now it comes right natural.

I started a thread on this but here we go again .. the other night on the Family Guy premiere Peter was rattling off a list of mostly Fox TV shows that were cancelled .. the list included Firefly, FastLane, Andy Ricter, Wonderfalls .. I thought it was a funny bit ...

There's this pizza place me and my friend go to pretty regularly, and on the way is a place called Jayne's Liquors. Then, one time, there was a truck parked at our pizza hangout with a bumper sticker to the effect of "I got a gun for my wife - good trade" ("Trade? Hell, it's theft! This is the best damn gun made by man. . .")
Anyway, it was a pretty Cobb-ish day.

A good friend of mine got married last fall. Each of us guys who stood up for him in the wedding were presented with a 'rainstick'. Sounded like it was rainin' and everything.

My sisters went to a party that was great so I asked them "were there monkeys ? Terrifying space monkeys?" They didn't get it.
Now how many times have I watched the dvds in our livingroom with the volume turned up loud and proper and they have yet to get hooked. I swear what does it take ? Must tie them up . yes yes yes! If anything they'd liked Wash's dinosaur theatre!

this was one thing that attracted me too firefly - there is a LARGE amount of political discourse about the growing strength of china's economy and the possibility of it becoming a rival superpower - so the future world in joss whedon's head seems to be grounded in a good deal of reality

This may be the funniest thing I've ever seen on these boards. How many got the joke? Or was it even on purpose?
Other day at work I took a guy's shift so he could have time off.
Guy: Oh my God! Thanks so much! You saved my life!
Me: Well, then, this is a day I'll feel good to be me.
Guy: *quizzical look*
I tell ya--you just can't pay for that kind of amusement.
