Never heard of Xenonauts before, but just looking at the thumbnail and the title of the video I thought it might be an evolution of X-Com. Looks like some people on Reddit say it's a straight ripoff of X-Com.
I got to play one of the newer ones maybe 10 years back when my brother let me borrow it for a while. It was pretty cool. The OG game is one of my favorites of all time. My bro and I got a shareware version of it with an issue of PC Gamer back in the mid-90's or so that let you play a single mission and we were hooked, even though we couldn't con our parents into buying it for us.
A few years later I was out with some friends at the mall and almost lost my shit when I saw that they made it for Playstation and since I had some money at that point I bought it on the spot. To this day I still go back and play that game every 5 years or so.
I don't really like playing games with a keyboard and a mouse anyhow, and MicroProse or whoever handled the Playstation port did a great job of converting the control scheme to the PSX controller. That's not an easy thing to do even today with a lot more options available to you with emulator support. Back in the 90's that must have been one hell of a job porting that over from the PC and making it play well on a console.

there was Fallout but this was different, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch have never replaced it

Elon spent almost exactly half of that to buy Twitter, and I think that was about 10,000% better for humanity than whatever that Meta monstrosity was.
I really don't understand what he was thinking. At best that world he built looked like Wii characters, and there were already quite a few other options out there for people to meet up with personal avatars out there, and there have been for 15 or 20 years at least that looked almost as good. IMVU came out in 2004 and looked just about as good IMO. I just looked and it says they're still up and running and they've still got 7 million regular users. Second life came out in 2003 and still has over half a million users today.
Maybe IMVU and Second Life don'tt work with a VR headset and Meta looked a lot better when you were immersed in it than it did from all of those videos I've seen of it over the years, but that was a very costly mistake.
If we were capable of doing a Ready Player One type of world, sure... $88 Billion would have been peanuts compared to what they would have been raking in, but all he did was reinvent the wheel and maybe put a little polish in it.
