I heard there are only 2 paths to avoid getting trapped in digital currency.

Who did you hear that from?
I'd have to understand what crypto currency REALLY is to be able to weigh in on whether or not it would be any sort of hedge at all, let alone save you from CDBCs. How would it even work? Would the Government(s) allow it, or would you be breaking the law using a secondary currency that isn't legal? Even if it were legal for a time, who's to say that they couldn't just vote to make it illegal tomorrow and there goes that plan unless you want to live like a fugitive the rest of your life.
I don't see how gold would be much better. First off, in the event that it's even movable by us peons in the digital currency future, it would obviously be infinitely more dangerous to carry it on you than your CredStick. And once you've spent some time flashing around that you have gold simply by buying anything with it, how long do you suppose it will be before somebody is tailing you back to your place to relieve you of it?
I view gold as a really shitty hedge against inflation for a lot of reasons. But the biggest reason would have to be how many people seem to think that it would be of much value to them in some sort of post-apocalyptic scenario. Gold only works in a civilized society because it is civilized and our governments allow it to work. If there is no civilized society left, or you're surrounding yourself with a lot of uncivilized people because you're buying everything on the black market with illegal gold, then you're probably better off without it. Unless, yanno... you manage to grow a third eye in the back of your head and teach yourself to never go to sleep again.
It's not as if the Federal Government hasn't ordered every citizen to turn in any gold they've had on hand before, and made you a criminal if you refused and held on to some. No reason they wouldn't try it again.
So what's the answer then? Real estate?
Oh... Right. Under Joe Biden* the CDC was able to put a 2 year moratorium on rent payments and didn't allow landlords to kick out deadbeats that weren't paying. They still had to pay their MASSIVE rental property taxes for those years and all the other expenses though. Bad idea.
