I can understand how "context" is important. Taking a snip out of an event and posting it on social media can be misleading.
Kyle Rittenhouse, for example. If all you saw was a clip of him shooting, you wouldn't know that he'd been chased by an angry mob, that two of the three people he shot struck him with hard objects and grabbed for his gun, and the third actually pointed a pistol at him.
Nicholas Sandmann and other Covington students is another example. If all you saw was a tribsl elder beating a drum, confronting a smirking Sandmann and apparently surrounded by other students, you'd come to the conclusion that they were harassing him. But if you watched THE WHOLE TWO HOURS OF VIDEO, like I did, you would have seen that it was the "tribal elder" who waded into the group of students, confronting them, and beating a drum and glaring at the first student in his path, who happened to be Nicholas.
So I can imagine that the police chief might not want to generate a prejudiced mob, bc some witnesses and bystanders might not want to come forward, and it might make investigation, prosecution, and trial more difficult.
THAT BEING SAID, I can't imagine a precursor that would justify beating two unarmed people half to death.

The only reason white people have been largely staying out of it is because they had something to lose, and there was always the ability to move into the suburbs and out of the big cities. You take that away from them and ruin their quality of life like you've been doing for 3 or 4 decades and you call the the playing field "even" when literally everything is stacked against you if you're white, you're going to see just how badass white people actually are when there are no more fucks given.
