This story doesn't say much more about the two who were arrested that isn't in the other copy/paste articles, but it's got a lot more information about the current situation with the fires in general than I've seen in any other article so far.

Both of them said to be unrelated to each other. The only variance on this story that I've seen has been that there may have been 2 men involved in the case of the guy who got arrested. No names or any other information given that I can tell yet.
I've been doing some serious looking into it and I haven't found anything more out. All the articles that even say that much are all copy and paste jobs and basically say the same thing, and I think they're all copying a story by The Canadian Press News. (Are they a legit outfit? I don't read much Canadian news and have no objective opinion of them).

I wouldn't know how to try to access any public records in Canada and honestly with the way this wacky world is all topsy-turvy at the moment I don't think it would behoove me to try to learn about it right now, if ya get me.
I remember when people didn't intentionally set forests on fire and burn 7,000+ homes down.
We got to get back to that again.

Premier Scott Moe didn't say yesterday if they were women or men. Just two individuals were arrested. I think that was all the info the RCMP gave him at the time. I am sure more will come out. The press usually can get a little more out of the Police but it can at times be need to know.
Both of those people are Cree. I just looked up Pelican Narrows to see and it is a Cree settlement.
Canadian Press Outlet is a legit news source. It's main office is in Toronto. No worries.
I forget the number the news gave last night but it is something like 15,000 total have had to flee their homes in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Like I said. Don't worry. It would take me a few minutes to ferret out more information on the fires across Canada.
I am hoping these were just two isolated incidents.

Well, BC has had the hot spots in Canada. Once was Lytton and the other day was Lillooet.

I would think that anybody setting fires in forests would be political idealogues, and almost certainly on the left left side of thinking.
I can see an argument why natives would be left wing, but from what I've read here in Amercica, native indians actually broke hard for Trump last election compared to the previous. I really don't hear much about them, esepecially when it comes to politics, and I think that's mostly because they choose not to speak out much.
It's just shocking for me to hear that any natives would be doing such a thing, even if they have been taken by ideology.
Maybe that's just me falsely applying a positive stereotype where maybe it doens't belong anymore? It's not like American and Canadian Indians are the Amish. They're all on computers and smart phone and the internet today like everyone else, right? Especially the kids?
I'm tellin' ya... I think those Covid lockdowns have done some serious mental damage to society in general and we don't even realize yet what all that forced isolation has done and the price we have yet to pay for it.
That girl was 13 years old when they shut everything down including the schools and kept people inside their own houses with nothing to do but veg out on TV and the internet for a couple of years (after telling us it was only going to be 2 weeks). Who knows who she started listening to with all that forced free time.

I don't know but nothing more was said tonight. The girl and some friends could have been camping or partying and someone started a fire without thinking and away it went. The guys it could have been cigarette buts that started it. Even the girl. The authorities are always telling people not to throw buts around that aren't out because when it is this dry, that's it can take.
Hey, even Native Americans can be stupid in elections and vote against their own best interest. No, your politicians don't seem to court Native American voters in any election and it is rare that I even hear that from the US up here.
Like I said could just be dumb stuff. First Nations people are just people and do dumb stuff.
A lot of communities have computers and such to access the internet as well as adults and kids have smart phones. Just like everyone else. But the farther north you go in Canada, communities become more isolated and the only source of the internet might be the library or the schools.
I know they did. You never know and of course First Nations and Native Americans aren't perfect. The flipside is one of these fires maybe started out as a ceremonial thing that got out of hand.
Unless Scott Moe(premier) or the RCMP say more. We'll just have to wait and see.

I wasn't insinuating I thought anybody was perfect. Just strange to me that any native would do something to "make a statement" by burning forests down. The articles framed it as if the fires were started intentionally, but why should I believe them any more than I believe any of the other BS news out there? Like I said, every article seems to be just a cut and paste from that one article I linked above, so they were all saying the same thing.
But "Arson" charges have been mentioned specifically, and that's setting fire with intent and wouldn't be applied to accidental burning, unless those are trumped up charges.
I haven't found any new news on those two arrests, but they're looking for another guy who was setting cars and a garage on fire in Toronto now too...

Sorry if I implied that you were. Just there are stupid people everywhere.
Usually what you hear about First Nations is them trying to school firefighters on what the terrain is like in the fire zone. And that actually has gotten better. They look to First Nations find out what they know of the area and maybe how they dealt with wildfires in the past.
Press, nothing like being lazy. Just repeating. I've noticed at times things like this too.
No, if arson charges are being laid then the RCMP have evidence. Like an accelerant found near the scene. Gas can or witness interviews.
Toronto is really urban. The largest city in Canada and that could just be a crazy person. A pyromaniac.

There are at least 83 fires burning in BC. One has even jumped the Rockies into Northern Alberta and is burning their area of the Peace region. The rest is burning in BC's Peace region. At least 2 are human caused.
So far no evacuations that I can find for BC. There will be alerts though.
Alberta has evacuated 4,000 people from the Northern part of the province and at least half of the communities there have been destroyed.
Between 10,000 to 15,000 have been evacuated from Northern Saskatchewan.
And 21,000 have been evacuated in Manitoba. A lot again from the Northern part of the province, especially from Flin Flon and the surrounding areas. They are down in Winnipeg
