All we can do is hope. BC's got raining coming which we need but it has to go over the Rockies to reach the Prairies.

Getting rain here in BC today. Hopefully Alberta will see some of it but there will nothing moving farther east.
Brace yourselves for our smoke.

Stories of the fires are starting to hit Europe. Just over on Face Book had a friend from the UK ask me if I was okay. Told her I was and will be.

Spoke to my cousin in Alberta. Her and her family are safe where they are for now. Though there are alerts around them. But so far so good for them.

There are 73 fires burning across BC.
9 up in the Northwest Territories
Half of the fires burning in Alberta are out of control
And only a handful in Saskatchewan and Manitoba are under control.

Sorry to hear that Brenda. Glad your family is okay.
I hadn't realized that it wasn't contained since I'm barely hearing anything about it. I only knew earlier today when my Dad was telling me that the smoke around Chicago is supposed to get pretty bad tomorrow.

Yeah, when stuff like this happens I try to check in with her. She lives in small city about an hours drive or so outside of Edmonton. Fingers crossed things will stay good around her.
As the smoke goes farther south you will be hearing more about them, I am sure. Smoke being blown east in Canada. The weather and fire people figure it could reach New York and that is the smoke from out west here.
Some are lighting fires and can come up so fast that is hard to get boots on the ground, even in the flat like the prairies.

57 fires burning in Alberta. Buildings have been lost but I don't think any people have. Thank goodness.

From what I'm hearing the smoke has largely missed us because it's not coming down as far south so far as they thought it would. That could change at any second though.
Thanks for the heads up in the tags though. Good lookin' out.
Hope you get some rain soon.

its happening more often, the Earth is getting stranger, the climate is changing and governments whatever they are doing don't really have solutions,
happening more often in Canada now
I seen feeds in SAmerica, in Africa, Greece, Turkey, Spain, a lot of Europe, across Asia
year 2009 was bad
2012 there were big ones in the USA
sometimes its actually a criminal immigrant, or some dumbass celebrating an event with fireworks or not putting out campfires or a fatalist crazy junkie started fires in Australia absolutely Scored Earth
2020 was very bad
Colorado 2021 and 2022
Dec 2024 - Jan 2025 very bad also
the Hawaii ones and later California were some of the worst I seen online
they are all huge now, you can see them burning the Earth from Space
