And come to think of it, this is the type of stuff that DOGE should be and hopefully is weeding out.
If getting on medicaid is as simple as lying about your assets and just hoping they never bother to investigate those claims, that is a huge fucking problem. Nobody should ever be able to get on a program with an asset limit without easily implemented computer code that could at the bare minimum weed out a majority of the people trying to scam.
And seriously... could you imagine living that way if you did scam to get on a healthcare program by lying about your assets, and then staying on it for YEARS without income and assuming that nobody was ever going to see that and ask how the hell you were paying your bills when you had less than $5,000 8 years ago and you haven't earned a dime in the previous 5 years?
