It's as dead as the spaghetti western.
They've made their money back now, which I said they would, but with the $110 Million budget they needed $275 Million just to break even. We're talking maybe $125 Million profit here, which given that Madame Web lost Sony a ton of money is still a great outcome for them. And nobody is going to watch Kraven the Hunter, which I believe comes out soon.
Venom 3 had the same benefit that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 saw last year when all other comic book movies failed. Though critics always trashed the Venom movies, the audience loved them. Well... at least they love the first one anyhow.
Venom made $856,081,053 back in 2018 with a $116 Million budget.
In today's dollars, that is a billion dollar movie at $1,074,933,044.85
Comic book movies are dead.
You might be able to eek out one huge blockbuster every 2 years or so, but my advice would be to just retire the genre for 10 years and start all over.
Maybe this time spend some time on smaller, more down-to-earth stories, and don't bust your load with the huge "End Game" scenarios right away, because nothing you put out after that is interesting anymore.

This is why I only watch trailers to movies I know I'm not going to watch to laugh at them.
I made the mistake of reading half of that article and now I know more about the movie than I wanted to know. Hopefully I'll forget by the time I see it.
There are far, far more people paying to see that movie that haven't read the books than have read them, so I don't agree with the excuse that "everybody already knows" because it's simply not true.
But, at the same time, I probably would have been much better off just watching the trailer because I wouldn't have known what the hell I was watching. When you read an article about it, it tells you all the back story.
I agree with their decision to put Rocky in there just because it sounds like it's a rare example of great CGI in an age of very, very lazy CGI that looks worse than Jurassic Park did 33 years ago. They feel that his (its) presence is not a spoiler and he's a central part of the movie, and they seem to be particularly proud about how it turned out, so it really seems like a no-brainer to have him in the trailer.
