Air in your cold Polar Base, Sub or Station or High Altitudes? Fine dust on Mars and worse on the Moon, Carbon monoxide is bad, CO2 also bad, Radon gas, Posions in the air,
VOCs, formaldehyde, Virus Bacteria Spores, Mold, other smells leaks of Flammable Gas? and general fine dust particles, ammonia, methane, or hydrogen sulfide can quickly cause loss of consciousness and death, NO2 is generated from the combustion of fuel engines and industry. It can damage the human heart and lungs and it reduces atmospheric visibility, Ozone worsens bronchitis and emphysema, triggers asthma, damages lung tissue and reduces crop productivity, Black carbon emissions destroy lungs, CO2 poisoning occurs when breathing air with 5% or more CO2 by volume.

An oxygen level of 12% is unsafe but below 19.5% is unsafe. At levels of 12%, a person will have impaired judgement and coordination, and experience increased pulse rates. Prolonged exposure can have fatal consequences. A CO2 level of 40% is fatal. Full stop.

Using Webb’s infrared abilities, researchers studied how starlight from beyond the molecular cloud was absorbed by the icy molecules within. This process left us with “chemical fingerprints,” or absorption lines, that could be compared with lab data to identify the molecules.

If you want to build a habitable planet ices are a vital ingredient. They carry several key elements — carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen & sulphur. These are important ingredients in planetary atmospheres & molecules like sugars, alcohols & simple amino acids.

Depends on which Mars we're talking about?

Mars, the planet: YES

Mars, the God of War: NO

Mars, the candy company: BIG FUCK NO

Growing up in a Republic was nice... Shame we couldn't keep it.

President Bush announces new space initiative

Quote:

a plan for space exploration announced on January 2004 by Bush junior, President George W. Bush. It was conceived as a response to the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, the state of human spaceflight at NASA, and as a way to regain public enthusiasm for space exploration.

Bush while fighting wars on multiple fronts wanted a Moon base or lunar exploration to as a stepping stone to Martian Colonisation for supporting sustained exploration of Mars
