IIRC the 'swearing' in Firefly are translations of english phrases devised by the writing team. So if you use the phrases from Firefly, you may be rude or obscene in Mandarin, but not colloquial.

i just can't figure out some of the pronunciations...does someone have a pronunication guide for chinese?

(even if i dont get them perfect..i'll have fun dumbfounding people when i swear! )

i don't know shit for chinese... but after a year in iraq i learned some fun arabic and kurdish
bewary of the spelling though..
