The latest indictment says that on December 10, 2020, Trump lawyer and adviser Rudy Giuliani claimed at a Georgia House of Representatives committee hearing that Freeman, Moss, and an unidentified man were “quite obviously surreptitiously passing around USB ports as if they’re vials of heroin or cocaine … to be used to infiltrate the crooked Dominion voting machines.” Giuliani alleged that between 12,000 and 24,000 ballots had been illegally counted in Fulton County to help Biden win.
On January 2, 2021, Trump called Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, demanding that Raffensperger find more votes for him so he could win Georgia. During the call, which is now a central piece of evidence in the Fulton County case, Trump repeatedly mentioned Freeman, claiming that she was a “professional vote scammer and known political operative.” Freeman, her daughter, and others were responsible for fraudulently awarding 18,000 ballots to Biden, he said, adding that Freeman “stuffed the ballot boxes,” the indictment states. The attacks from Trump, Giuliani, and others led Trump supporters to barrage Freeman with vitriolic phone calls and messages; they even showed up at her home.
When the harassment didn’t work, Trump and his supporters tried more direct intimidation, backed by lies.

The cases against Trump aren’t criminalizing politics. He and his allies are politicizing crime.
Following each new indictment of Donald Trump, he and his allies attack the case. Their complaints have gravitated toward one idea in particular: the notion that prosecutors have charged Trump for engaging in the normal work of politics.
But that actually is not the case: Attempting to overturn an election and hold on to power despite the will of the voters is far from typical politics. Regardless of what Trump and other Republicans are arguing, a line does exist separating the ugly but acceptable from the criminal. And prosecutors allege that Trump crossed it.

Former President Donald Trump was previously warned that he'd spend the "rest of his life" facing legal issues if he continued to spread false claims about election fraud in regards to the 2020 presidential election, former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr said Thursday.
"I also didn't like the way he was spouting the 'Big Lie.' I thought that was irresponsible, but he took it much further than even I expected or anyone expected," Barr said during an interview appearance with Fox News. "And during this time, he was being told by lawyers in the White House that if he kept on doing this, he would spend the rest of his life tangling with the criminal justice process and that's exactly what's happened. He shouldn't be surprised and no one else should be surprised."

Former President Donald Trump's 18 co-defendants listed in the Georgia indictment are likely being told by their lawyers to think seriously about flipping and providing evidence against him, lawyer and legal analyst Neal Katyal said on Sunday.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis who has been leading the investigation into Trump and his allies for over two-and-a-half years, indicted the former president on 13 felony counts on Monday.
Jonathan Turley, law professor at George Washington University, told Newsweek on Sunday, "The Georgia indictment is a classic 'charge-them-all-and-let-God-sort-them-out' tactic. These defendants are facing financial and professional ruin as well as significant jail sentences. Prosecutors often use such charges to flip defendants."
He added: "It often works. Desperation can set in as savings are exhausted before trial. However, they demand testimony that will advance the prosecution of higher ranked defendants, particularly Trump."
Alan Dershowitz, emeritus professor of law at Harvard Law School, also told Newsweek on Sunday, "Of course some will be tempted to make deal."
Rudy W. Giuliani @RudyGiuliani tweeted: "The real criminals here are the people who have brought this case forward both directly and indirectly." Rudy has also been indicted. Tough luck, Rudy. Talk your way out of a jail sentence, Rudy, by testifying against Trump.
