It’s Time to Prepare for a Ukrainian Victory

The liberation of Russian-occupied territory might bring down Vladimir Putin.

To be clear: This is not a prediction; it’s a warning. Many things about the current Russian political system are strange, and one of the strangest is the total absence of a mechanism for succession.

WTF??? Only a witless troll would post such nonsey.

Russia has elections. That's there mechanism for succession!

China Is Starting to Really Regret Its Friendship With Russia

“The biggest surprise for China was that Russia totally misjudged its own power. We thought that Russia would win a very fast war,” the Chinese expert explained ruefully, a few weeks after the invasion. It was not the official line, which was then in the phase of intense attempts to persuade global audiences that Beijing had no idea what was coming. But it was a better reflection of Chinese foreign policy thinking than either playing innocent or repeating ad nauseam that the invasion of Ukraine was the responsibility of the United States and NATO pushing a big power against the wall. One of the main reasons behind Beijing’s resistance to such entanglements in the past was not because partners and allies weren’t useful but because the countries in question risked dragging China down with their mistakes. The “Pakistan model,” which China had been touting, was conditioned by exactly this experience: Beijing didn’t want to get stuck defending every Pakistani intervention in Kashmir or inadvertently drawn into a conflict with India, so it confined itself to providing the capabilities its friend needed and then staying above the fray. Russia was not the first Chinese partner to believe it would win a very fast war and found itself in a hole, but China wasn’t usually pulled into it with them.

Any time now. It is winter and the Russian army is without socks, underwear and doctors. They are also very close to being without ammo.

Turn over your life to we Russians and we will let you Ukrainians live rather than hit you with our missiles:

One justification for slavery in the Americas was that those who were enslaved had been captured in a “just” war and that slavery was therefore a “just” substitute for death. That rather than being killed on the battlefield, lives were turned over to their captors. Essentially, that the enslaved had been spared. This is a notion which is in Roman law historically and was prominent especially throughout the Spanish American context.

One of the things that happens in the middle of the 18th century is that this idea of slavery as a substitute for death or captivity grows to be regarded as ridiculous. It becomes treated as a fiction — and a convenient fiction at that. That’s a big piece of the change.

NATO commits to future Ukraine membership, drums up aid

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — NATO doubled down Tuesday on its commitment to one day include Ukraine, a pledge that some officials and analysts believe helped prompt Russia's invasion this year. The world’s largest security alliance also pledged to send more aid to Ukrainian forces locked in battle with Russian troops.

Captured documents reveal Russia's plan to annex Ukraine in ten days and kill its leaders

Russia planned to seize Ukraine within ten days and kill its leaders, according to new documents apparently signed off by Vladimir Putin.

The leaked plans, revealed by the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (Rusi), show that Russia aimed to have annexed the country by August.

Russia intended to capture Ukraine’s airfields, water supplies, central bank and parliament as Ukrainian officials either fled or were captured “as a result of the speed of the invasion".

The Kremlin created a "kill list" of Ukrainians that should be killed or suppressed.

According to Rusi, the plan was known to few in Russia's military and unit commanders did not receive orders to invade until hours before.

Russian Commander 'Executed' Following Mass Desertions of His Unit: Report

A Russian commander has reportedly died after members of his unit deserted from the front line en masse.

Russian independent news outlet The Insider reported the death of Viktor Sevalnev, a 43-year-old ex-convict who was recruited by the Wagner group, a mercenary outfit, for Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine.

The outlet cited information it obtained from Vladimir Osechkin, a Russian human rights activist who runs the anti-corruption website Gulagu.net.

Sevalnev headed the 7th motorized rifle company of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in eastern Ukraine, and had been hospitalized after sustaining injuries in battle.

The Insider said a recorded conversation between Sevalnev and his wife in November revealed that he had been threatened with execution because soldiers in his unit had deserted.

"Don't send people here...they want to kill everyone," he said in a phone call with his wife Lilia, according to the report.

"Today it's me, tomorrow another, that's all. We're just murder material [to them]. The Ministry of Defense executes people. They know that we're [dead men] and they don't give a damn," he also reportedly said.

According to the news outlet, in November, Sevalnev's unit sustained heavy losses, some soldiers were killed and the rest deserted.

His wife said she was told on December 1 that Sevalnev had died in the Donbas region on November 25 from shrapnel wounds and a powerful blow to the head.

Do your know the difference between stupidity and ignorance, THUGR? An ignorant person hasn't learned something yet. A stupid person can't - or, in your case, refuses to - learn. I mean, how many times do you need to be lied to before you figure out that you're being lied to??? You've got your head firmly, firmly, stuck up your ass. And you refuse to pull it out.
